Former Sec. of State and former 4 star General and chairman of the Joint Chief of staff famously advised George H.W. Bush that the only way to go to war with Iran was to have a fool proof exit strategy. That's the reason the four presidents after Bush 41 never invaded Iran. Trump however is a fool and he had no problem going in but now can't get out. |
|
They clearly realized what a mistake this was in mid March, and have been trying to figure out how to exit in this digital age - years ago, they could surrender but lie about it, but now they have to surrender but make it look like a success.
Frankly, I just want the war to end, I don’t care. I’ll pretend it’s a success if it means the war ends. |
I will never do that. I can accept defeat. We need to not lie to ourselves. That way lies madness. |
Trump lie? Never! It will be the most beautiful unconditional surrender in the history of the world when Iran agrees to accept our surrender! |
+1. Trump's ego is the whole reason we got into this war. Republicans need to grow a spine and tell the emperor he has no clothes. Also, what an amazing coincidence that Trump finally takes the negotiations seriously enough to cancel his golf plans on a weekend when the weather was terrible for golfing on the entire east coast. |
|
So now Trump is offering Iran $20 billion for a worse deal than we had with the JCPOA, which Trump ripped up, just because it had Obama's name on it?
Also, you jackasses who yammered about "palettes of cash" seriously need to check yourselves, sit down and STFU. |

Andreas Krieg, an associate professor at Kings College London, said the Gulf was shocked at the degree to which Washington protected Israel first against Iranian drones and missiles, despite the trillions of dollars of Gulf investment pouring into the US.
“We’re probably seeing the final days of American empire in the Middle East,” he said. “Across the Gulf, there is complete disillusionment with American influence and the ability of America to lead.” The shock of the Iran war and its fallout has driven rivals in the Middle East to get behind a peace deal, pushing the Trump administration to accept a tentative agreement in the face of furious opposition from Israel and its supporters in Washington. Watched the mainstream media panelists talk about Iran and the war is shocking. Some former general was saying oh Iran still has their missiles and can attack their neighbors.WTF? The US and Israel attacked Iran because the Iranians were having a cabinet meeting.
Iran should be demanding the US and Israel give up their long strike capabilities and their nuclear weapons. Let’s see how that would go over. |
Trump is stuck. He needs to end the war because it’s unpopular and he needs to bring down oil prices. yet this war is a boom for US oil companies who making a ton of money and I’m sure Trump is getting some kind of kickback. If he were to just pretend we won the war, Iran would still control the Straight (they are never giving that up) and consumers would see oil prices continue to rise. It hasn’t affected his polling number with his base so he can keep manipulating the market with promises of a deal. |
|
It actually has. He is under water with white rural non-college educated males now. So it i affecting his base and his polling numbers.
The fog is sort of being lifted as right wing pundits are turning on him and now three members of Congress are GOP lame ducks, putting more legislative action in peril. |
|
Hah…sounds like trumps keepers in Israel told him “no deal.”
Strikes reported in southern Iran. |
That seams to be true. The US is striking targets in southern Iran. What is the point of this? And who is actually making these decisions? |
The point is for Trump to steal as much money as possible. |
Netanyahu and the Epstein class. Any talk of peace is unrealistic so long as they are in control. |
It will be interesting to find out someday. I do think that Trump might think he’s in charge because he’s making some decisions, but the decisions are based on handpicked intelligence fed to him to make moves chosen for him. |
