Sadly the US does not have the upper hand in this Iran matter. The Iranians do, with their very daring and risky seizure of the Strait. It was a desperate, last-resort maneuver, and they've made it work in their favor.

From a war gaming point of view, I give credit where credit is due.

Google drone attacks IDF. It’s the same type of videos that come out of Ukraine. IDF vehicles, com systems, bases, etc under attack. Some of the videos show IDF soldiers running from drones. The IDF like the US military are totally unprepared. It’s all over the Hebrew news cast and papers in Israel. This type of attritional warfare does not favor the IDF just like it did not favor the Russians or US military.

This was very predictable. It will only get worst as the drone and AI improve.

To be fair, Trump also sold out our allies in Afghanistan and ceded the country to the Taliban, so his record on these matters are not exactly aligned with US interests.

Iran’s controls of the strait was not a daring and risky seizure. The Iranians had a plan that took 35 years to implement. They executed the plan when they were attacked by Trump and Bibi. Israel has been screaming about destroying Iran for 40 years now. The Iranians saw what the US military’s capabilities were planned accordingly. The Iranians have clearly outperformed the US militarily in terms of planning, operations, strategic and tactical thinking. I would hate to see how many casualties we would have taken with a ground war. How can the US be so unprepared for drone warfare?

Lucky we did not go up against the Chinese around Taiwan. The Chinese can produce a 1,000 cruise missile engines a day. These have a range of up to 4,000 km. We would have lost a lot of capital ships.

There is a reason other US presidents hadn't attacked iran.

That is also why the JCPOA was so effective and frankly, it was giving moderates more power in Iran.

Trump was nothing but a gift to Iran, Israel and Russia on this issue.

US weapons system are too expensive and can not function in a war time environment. The weapon systems, tanks, aircraft, ships, etc need too much expensive maintenance, can not be replaced in a timely manner(5-7 year for a ship) and munitions replacement rates are like 10-100 a month.

Next time we go to war we will not have bases in Europe.

The Iranians agreed to the JCPOA because they had no intention of building a nuclear weapon. We have been lied to by our intelligence, politicians and media for years. If Iran wanted a bomb they could have made one pretty easily over the last 30 years. 60 to 90 is the easy part.

I don’t think they need one now. They can shut down the strait at anytime or remove 20% of the world’s oil production for 5-7 years. Iran is untouchable going forward. Time to forget about anything like to JCPOA.

There is no world where a 60 day war was realistic and I am pretty confident there were not any military advisors with the country's best interest at heart would would have supported that conclusion.

Also time for the country to take renewable energy seriously so as to never be harmed by turmoil in the middle east again. Somehow Europe and China managed to move in this direction without lobbyists and billionaires detracting the move.

4) Evidence of no deal, and nowhere close to Iran making concessions
5) Pretending not to care about a deal he transparently wants

Yep. This. Dems should be calling for hearings on this issue. Why do we spend so much money on our military and foreign wars? What have we gotten in return. Would that money have been better spent on healthcare? Preschool? 🤔

Right now all I see since Bush II’s presidency are wasted billions. Where is the outrage?
