Unfortunately it probably means: stuff on the floor, broken, blood.

+1
Forced entry, evidence of a struggle, blood, etc.

Read between the lines. Use context.

I didn’t think of blood. I imagined forced entry and contents strewn around.

Otherwise, I would just assume she was the clueless sibling who insists you are crazy and mom is fine and does not have dementia because mom seems lucid and showboats when she visits. The person pushes back until something bad happens and then swears it was sudden onset of some severe dementia when you were saying things for years and everyone insisted you were wrong and refused to plan. That is what happened to us, but the scary event was NOT a disappearance, so sadly it was my first thought here. I hope they find her soon.

Wut

Pp is suggesting that despite the statements made, that Savannah’s mom may have actually been in cognitive decline. Pp is suggesting that Savannah could have been in denial about any problems, given that she lives far away. Pp is suggesting this based on their personal experience with family members.

PP here. Thanks. That is what I meant. It was my first thought based on my own personal experience. It sounds like there may have been evidence of forced entry based on what people are saying, but the authorities have not been specific. Gut-wrenching! I recall seeing an interview with Guthrie where she talked about how fortunate she was to have a mother like hers and how much her mom meant to her.

Someone mentioned it happened to the mom of a famous baseball player. It seems like such an ignorant choice because of course it will end up in the news and there will be plenty on the case. Hope she is found soon. This is so much stress for an 84 year old woman. I just hate to even think about it.

Sheriff Chris Nanos said it appears “Nancy did not leave on her own.” 😔

It’s now a crime scene.

Ugh, that’s awful.

I’m from Tucson too and my elderly mom also lives in Catalina foothills but way on east side. I’m guessing savannahs mom is over on northwest side though, closer to the malls? That’s where most of the larger lots are.

So very sad. Given all the LEO and FBI involvement, there must be evidence of a terrIble crime. Can't imagine the depravity of a person who would harm an 84 year old woman.

Scary!

That is so horrible. I’m so sorry to read this.

Here’s the local newspaper coverage — does sound like they are throwing everything at this although she’s been missing more than 24 hours now:

Given the neighborhood, I would think many ring cameras and the perp was almost certainly driving so hopefully they can catch a break on getting the tags. But it is super dark in the foothills at night so I would think that would make it harder. How awful for the whole family.

Also from Tucson (that makes three of us- what are the odds…)

I live in the foothills - Nancy lives in a neighborhood just south of La Encantada and the intersection at Skyline/Campbell.

Yes, it is very dark and many of the ring cameras may not have great visibility/range to the street (the lots are large, with most homes set further back from the street). Hopefully something turns up.

Are home invasions rare there?

Are there other adult children and family in the area? A kid living 3,000 miles away from their aging widow mom makes me so sad. She prob only saw her a handful of times a year
