| I was out protesting on April 5th and had no face covering. I do think Trump and the GOP want to hurt Americans who protest against them and MAGA would cheer them on. I just think there are too many for them to contend with on a systemic level. Give it time, I’m sure Trump will try to kill us. |
| Idk my crazy paranoid friend won’t even text about DT. it’s so pathetic |
Correct, which is why US born citizens should protest in the hundreds of thousands |
It’s a Gen Z thing. It’s the same line of thinking as going to Human Resources to solve their work relationships. Low risk and indirect. They want everything gentle, no risks, and it’s great when someone else to work it out for them— so they don’t have to deal with real or speculative consequences. My kids don’t like ordering things in person bc it’s uncomfortable (I compelled them to do that for practice). |
I’m a Black woman. Please reassure me — if you can — that if I’m one of the people that gets arrested, the rest of the country will “rise up”. Let’s start with you, PP. Are you and your friends going to notice that I’ve been arrested? Once you notice, will you come and find me from wherever I’ve been taken? I’m pretty sure that for all of my degrees and “upper middle class” interests, I’ll be left to rot. I’d like to think that I’m wrong though. Well? |
I work in local government and have the type of job where I must stay out of politics in general. If I didn't, I wouldn't care who knows who or what I support. But my professional credibility depends on being nonpartisan. Instead, in my personal life, I donate to causes that uphold civil rights for all. |
yea, they are more impressed with insurrectionists storming the Capitol with zipties and pooping in it. |
I'm Asian American, naturalized citizen, and I agree with you. DH is also a naturalized citizen, white. We are both scared that any outward protest may result in a roundup, or at the least, harassment. We have kids. Truly scary times. I've been a citizen for over 40 years and used to vote R. |
| The UMC (not UC) is precisely who Trump is after: https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2025/04/trump-waging-war-professional-class/682409/ |
But wasn't this the same message that you sent during the vote in November? Millions of people did not vote for Trump. This is not a new message. What was the point of you standing out there delivering the same message? |
I see no point in these professionally organized protests. What exactly BLM protests achieve? Now, several years later, how exactly black people lives better because of BLM protests? |
Why on earth would you judge the entire enormous, diverse United States based on the comments on one thread in one forum of a parent site focused on one city and its suburbs? Sounds like a You problem. Troll better. |
Me too — the online protest— set back women’s rights at work and as citizens. It was an entertainment and media/news online trend that hurt the peons (the rest of us). |
Because even though we did not vote for Trump, I am happy to see that at least 13 gang members were removed from my Maryland community. I am happy to see that my jewish child will be safe at the north-east college they are currently attending. I despice Trump, but I am not going to protest to put my family and my community in more danger like it was during the last administration. |
Are those actually organized by Democrats? I am a registered Democrat, and I am watching carefully what is happening with my party. I have a lot of questions about how the Democratic party is organizing the current protests. We were always able to work out our policies by different ways and what is happening now is destroying our party. I afraid we are going to lose midterm election if the violence and protests continue. |
