I just paid 65 dollars for 8 small ‘street’ style tacos with a side of consommé sauce for dc and me for lunch. From a small hole in the wall take out place.
It’s ridiculous |
No shame in that. The $ pain is real. |
| It's crazy that a drip coffee goes for $5. I used to enjoy walking breaks during the day, where I'd occasionally get a coffee at starbucks or wherever. No more! |
|
DC is hot and horrible
we should all leave anyway |
No you are fine. The idea is “times are tough” I am being an a~# Sorry about your crummy breakfast that stinks |
It was delicious so at least I didn’t pay $9 for a bad scone! |
yay! Sorry I’ve been a jerk. I am happy to hear that I like scones Ps I am framing this as dc local politics and local return to Brick economy in case anyone is bent out of shape where this dialogue is located ! I got ya, sister |
| What was the point of the original post? $13 is a bargain for coffee and a scone downtown. |
| That’s a terribly unhealthy lunch. No one should ever eat scones and you should definitely not be drinking coffee at noon. |
Thanks RFK. maybe heroin is a healthier lunch. |
Really? is a $10 scone a bargain anywhere? |

You're fine as long as you get some broccoli. https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/how-broccoli-can-help-you-digest-caffeine-more-quickly-at-night In practice I just need more caffeine to get my fix though. I had tried this, and I started noticing basically any of the cruciferous vegetables work. Even a salad with lettuce. https://www.reddit.com/r/nutrition/comments/afyxg1/how_much_of_an_effect_do_cruciferous_vegetables/ |
I want to KEEP the caffeine in my system, not remove it! I do eat a lot of broccoli though. |
So bored, aren’t you? I work in midtown Manhattan and would not be obnoxious enough to try to claim that $13 is a ‘bargain’ for a coffee and scone. |
