It’s always been rules for thee but not for me for the US. So, not surprised. When America invades and kills, it’s sometimes “regrettable” but never ever a crime.

The Russians have committed war crimes (encyclopedias full) for the past 1.5 years. So, so be it with the cluster bombs. Hopefully, they're particularly effective against the trench positions.

Ironically, you’re posting this from a country built on war crimes,

So be it. Now, we're helping fight against a country that has perfected them.

Tell me more about how you applaud an international court warrant for Putin with your right hand while fighting for all Americans to have immunity from that court with your left.

Tell me more about how you profess to despise illegal land grabs and ethnic cleansing out of the right corner of your mouth while granting unconditional support and money to Israel out of the left one.

Tell me more about your commitment to fight tyrants and spread democracy…once your mouth is on its scheduled break from fellating the Gulf dictators.

Tell me more about your moral quandaries while Russia soldiers rape toddlers to death.

DP but I think toddler rape was propaganda and exposed as such.

Weiss... Huh. Wonder if he has some long standing grudge against Russia? Surely he isn't one of those war mongers that would say anything to her the war he wants...

This is your thought process, really? I guess the Russian army is just widely misunderstood. None of the (countless) stories are real. They're really just the good guys that have been unfairly smeared.

But it IS true that many of the stories released by Ukraine turned out to be false. The media is understandably sympathetic to their cause but reprinting press releases really isn’t what their mama sent them to j school for.

This isn't a story released by the Ukrainian press, it's from a report by the U.N. It's plainly stated, so why are you trying to obfuscate it?

It's in a U.N. report, dude. You are literally defending child rape.

The "report" is just a collection of stories. If you read the one you are so worked up about, you realize pretty quickly you're dealing with fan fiction.

I'm not so sure an 83 year old woman has fantasies about being raped by Russian soldiers, or a 22 year old mother has fantasies about her 4 year old daughter being forced to fellate a Russian soldier. Why would you assume that?

Because this person is one of the pro-Russia MAGA trolls that have settled in this thread. You'd think UN documented child rape would be indefensible, but here we are.

You skipped some of the less believable details.
Here is the full report:
90. In Kyiv region, in March 2022, two Russian soldiers entered a home, raped a 22-year-
old woman several times, committed acts of sexual violence on her husband, and forced the
couple to have sexual intercourse in their presence. Then, one of the soldiers forced their
four-year-old daughter to perform oral sex on him, which is rape.

Note that supposedly this happened around Kiev in March, where Russian soldiers were rather busy at the time.

What is your confusion here, to make you think this is somehow impossible or not credible? In March 2022 Russian troops occupied Bucha and other areas in Kyiv oblast, and there is no shortage of well documented and well-substantiated accounts of rape, torture and murder of civilians by Russian soldiers during that time.

Let’s remember something that Ukrainians would like to forget and get indignant when reminded: Russians and Ukrainians are very close both in genetics and in their Soviet past. The differences are negligible despite what Ukrainians would like to believe.
I don’t think one side committed much worse acts of violence on the individual scale than the other. This does not pertain to the state level but if the roles were reversed… however let’s not talk hypotheticals.
Now if the invaders were a completely different culture I would be more inclined to believe all the horror stories. Another argument is that it’s always easier to commit atrocities on “others”.

In my experience living in Russia and spending time in Ukraine, Ukrainians aren’t upset if you bring up their shared identity and history with Russians. In fact, that’s one of the reasons they’re so upset about the fact that Russia invaded their country.

Russians and Ukrainians know they have shared history and identity. I’m one of many people who are both Russian (St Petersburg) and Ukrainian (Odessa).

Some random joker spreads a fake "Ghost of Kiev" story to troll the Russians and you think you can point at that and claim everything any Ukrainian has ever said is a lie?

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Also, even the Ukrainian Air Force said right from the start that the "Ghost of Kiev" was a myth.

Now the Russians, on the other hand - have lied about literally everything in this war. Like Lavrov saying on February 23rd 2022 that Russia was not going to invade and that it was all just "western hysterics." Or the Russian Navy claiming the Moskva was on its way to port under its own power when in fact it was sunk. The Russians have lied about EVERYTHING.
