It's a genuinely rotten culture. Very docile and materialistic.

Russia <> Russians. And the latter will have less money to spend over time at those industries given the former IS a global pariah.

It’s a made up argument. The war needs to stop, even if it’s not completely to the liking of armchair warriors

Per you, the only way the war will "stop" is if Ukraine gives up territory. All that means is that Ukraine loses territory for the second time, allowing Russia to regroup/rebuild for their third attempt next time (since per you, "the war needs to stop" means that Ukraine gives up territory so why would Russia be incented otherwise...)

It’s more expensive and more complicated to go abroad for a Russian citizen but the number of people doing so was relatively small anyway

It’s more about Russians who live abroad or work abroad, plus import export.

Russia is a country. Individual Russians are not pariahs, unless they are on the sanctions list.

Well the former Soviet bloc is happy to hate on each and every Russian they come across. Some old Europe as well.
