Just posted on another thread: recently discovered damage to central nervous system: in China they found virus in the cerebrospinal fluid of a male patient- he recovered, not sure about sequela
And we still do not know all about the possible long term damage.

This happened with Spanish flu. The book/movie Awakenings was about people with neurological defects belatedly caused by that. And I have a family member who died of it about 15 years after the flu. (Not sure how long the symptoms took to show up but he was totally disabled for years prior to death).

Q: anyone have any info about the potential for central nervous system damage mentioned above? That freaks me out.

Hmmm..now that I look at the literature, it appears that it's actually kind of controversial whether those cases were caused by Spanish flu or whether it was a separate wave of illnesses that coincidentally struck. But here's some literature on it, for those that are curious.

In a world with infinite resources, the above would not be true. We dont live in that world.

All that said, I would want the 40 yo w kids to get the bed vs my 77 yo father., all other things being equal if it came to that. "He's lived his life". I'd say the same if I were older too. War is hell.

Study abroad? They had a freaking St Pattricks Day parade in New Orleans on Saturday! They basically held the Philadelphia war bonds parade. What a bunch of idiots that didn’t learn from history. Even Ireland cancelled their festivities!
