Kyle Rittenhouse: Vigilante White Men

Anonymous
I watched Kyle give testimony, his cross examination, plus two more days of proceedings plus closing arguments by both sides plus rebuttal by prosecutors to closing arguments by defense, plus judge’s instructions to jury of all different charges. I felt that the defense hit it out of the ballpark. The prosecutors did a poor job. I am not surprised by the verdict and I am a lay person.

Yes the prosecution sucked! They clearly wanted a show, not an actual trial!

Let it burn and go home. That’s why we have insurance.

Sweetheart the world doesn’t work that way. Not everything is replaceable. Insurance doesn’t cover all costs. It doesn’t provide interim income. It also doesn’t give people faith than can invest in the future. Everything has to become a commodity that’s easily replaced. The mural you commissioned at your business can’t be replaced. The memories can’t be replaced. Risks aren’t worth it. Why make the world beautiful if someone can just burn it down?

Seems MSNBC is still butt hurt from being barred from the court room.
Some might think they are inciting violence......

Okay wise guy, so incentives don’t work. I’ll take the bait.

What would you suggest? The police aren’t doing their jobs and the city is burning? Sit back and enjoy the view? Move to a red city? Tell your grandfather his business you inherited needs to be rebuilt anyways?

Let it burn and go home. That’s why we have insurance. Police had to deal with Rittenhouse instead of stop other violence. You see, Rittenhouse became a problem.

OMG. Seriously? Let it burn and go home?

Have read what some of the Kenosha business owners had to do in the aftermath? How much they owed, even after insurance?

From the WaPo

“the only visible law enforcement presence was around the Kenosha County Courthouse, where an 8-foot-high fence was erected around the building, with about 1,000 protesters gathered outside the barrier.”

Failure of police isn’t an excuse for vigilantism. Hire better officers.

Just to clarify Rittenhouse should have gone home as he was just contributing to violence and not helping officers.

Same for me. The only surprise was that it took until Friday to render the verdict.

That judge must go.

Kyle was the victim here, watch the footage.

Kyle was in the wrong. He had no business being in the middle of that riot. He provoked people, waved his gun at them, escalated and it resulted in him shooting two people and injuring another.

One should not be allowed "self defense" claims when one is the person who provoked the fight in the first place. That is then just an excuse to murder.

Clearly you haven’t looked at the evidence here. He did not provoke anyone. He was walking alone, Rosenbaum (who earlier threatened to kill him if he found him alone) jumped out from behind a car and started CHASING him. Rittenhouse was running away from him yelling “friendly, friendly, friendly” and then Rosenbaum yells f*** you just as some fool fires a warning shot and rittenhouse turns around to Rosenbaum reaching for his gun and rittenhouse shot. Everyone testified that Rosenbaum was a menace who was threatening everyone and acting erratically. The guy who was right there next to them said rosenbaum screamed f*** you then reached for the gun. The drone shows it too. And the angle of the final bullet wound proves it. Rosenbaum was unfortunately very sick and it cost him his life. He was bipolar and depressed and off his meds and had literally just been discharged from the hospital for a suicide attempt. He was the aggressor hands down

There shouldn't have been any vigilantes OR rioters. But, there were both. And, no police. And, barely any National Guard. Obviously Rittenhouse should have gone home. He was a kid. He didn't and there were no other responsible adults around.

Especially the mayor and leaders of Kenosha. Totally derelict in their duty to protect.

Rittenhouse had a better weapon and a quicker trigger finger. So, he wins.

+1 If Grosskreutz had shot him he would have got off similarly. Right?

Well, no. He would have at least gotten convicted of illegally possessing a firearm.

It's an op-ed. Did you expect something other than opinion?

It seems the rioters are gearing up for further riots over the weekend.

If they wantonly destroy property and threaten those seeking to protect property with bodily harm, one can only hope that the police will do their jobs next time and not leave it to private citizens to step into the void.
