It still doesn’t add up that a group of teens would re-dock a bike someone was riding on, it just doesn’t make sense. They weren’t ‘stealing’ it, in that they clearly wanted to pay for it, so why did they think it belonged to them? thus far all of our premature speculation has been for no use. If we dox the teens than we are just repeating the mistake of those who doxed her? We just don’t know enough of what happened.

They were just doing the stupid sh¡t that teens do. They were messing with someone to take the bike. Doesn’t seem very far fetched at all.

Why'd they film it, though?

OMG young people film everything now. Do you know any young people?

Only the young people who are real losers film everything. Do you know any young people?

Well there you go, all young people are losers. Do you also yell at them to get off your lawn?

I thought we had decided to ignore this troll.

We've told our neighbors kids to get off our yard.

So, you are ok with a man doing this to you? You are ok with your kid doing it to someone else? This wasn't just messing with someone.

None of it makes sense. If they rented it, why wouldn't they just tell her before she paid. And, why are they in hiding now vs. stepping up.

occam’s razor.

they wanted the e-bike (they are scarce)

or

they wanted to hassle/prank her for fun

or

they actually were trying to steal the bike but gave up when she started to yell

I don't know if they actually forcibly redocked the bike or not -- that's the PA's interpretation of events, it sounds like it was somewhat chaotic, there may be context I'm missing.

I honestly felt comfortable concluding the woman wasn't stealing the bike or "weaponizing white tears" just from watching the video -- you see the guy rent the bike during the video while she's honest, and the level of harassment she was experiencing, to me, merited her level of upset. I honestly didn't need the receipt or other context, but obviously some people did.

I do agree the guys should not be doxed and that hunting them down to "hold them accountable" for behavior which, while I don't approve of it, does not rise to the level of criminal or even civil liability. They were being jerks, I hope their parents and friends saw the video and told them so. I have zero interest in joining a virtual mob to expose them and ruin their lives.

I don't want this thread to be shut down because I think it's been a valuable conversation, but it also seems like there's nothing new to discuss at the moment so let's not get locked into some pointless back and forth with someone who's just trying to provoke. That way the thread is still here should there be any new developments.

Since the men went into hiding there probably will not have anything new. They'll cover up the rest. The hospital will probably let her return (or they will fire her and the attorney will sue). It doesn't meet the media's needs for clicks. They don't want to hear this woman did nothing wrong, they want to hear she was a horrible white woman who was in the wrong. I'd love to see the police or media find those men and get to the truth.

How do you know that?

Her career is likely over. With her position as a PA you would think she would have been able to navigate the bike situation with more civility.

The majority of sane women are not going to put themselves in harm’s way over something as trivial as fighting over a Citibike. New Yorkers are unpredictable and the bike fiasco could have had a different outcome.

Nobody else believes the nonsense you are spewing except you.

I wrote that. I am a Comrie supporter. 100%. I think what these kids did was awful. But they absolutely were messing with her to get that bike. They were doing stupid kid sh¡t. And then posting it for sh¡ts and giggles. I would never let my kids get away with this, and I completely think they should be punished. They messed with someone and took it way too far. They were a$$holes, make no mistake about it.

I feel like invading a woman's personal space, and even touching her, is not stupid kid shit.

They thought it would be a hilarious clip for all 400 of their followers then it got out of hand. Still really strange that none of them have been identified yet, but they probably closed ranks and are trying to ride it out. Honestly, they pretty much have … only the Monique lady is still bleating on about this, everyone else on the left and the right seems to have moved on to looking for the next outrage du jour.

I see it differently, especially because I once had two (adult in my case) black men tell me I was "about to go viral" when I politely asked them to turn of their car stereos outside my home at 2am... instead of just calling the police from the safety of my bedroom like my born city-dwelling arse learned from earliest childhood and should never have stopped doing!! It is a thing to use video as a weapon against white women.

They should be held accountable. They will do it again.
