What happened to this California family?

I am not convinced about murder–suicide. Why pick a difficult hiking trail on a hot day? I understand that chances are nobody other than them would be on the trail (which turned out to be the case unfortunately) but then so many unexpected things could have happened too.

For example, one parent (the victim) realizes it’s too hot after 10-15 minutes of the hike and say “ You know what? This is crazy!!! Not safe for the baby. We should turn back!!!” Or mom and dad starts arguing and he/she tries to leave and ruin the FA plan right there. They didn’t carry any weapons did they? It’s not like the murderer could wipe out the whole family then.

I’m going with a combo of wild floral blooms, heat, hazmat & algae.
They appeared to be the perfect American family. All happily married women run around the desert nude or dressed in a leather dominatrix outfit. Drugs at Playa? Nah. Just a spiritual awakening.
Life in Podunk had to be a dream come true. No glitz or glamour. What more could a person want?

These two hiked almost every weekend according to friends and in very hot climates according to her IG before the account was closed. It’s doubtful one of them would have said “let’s turn around, it’s too hot.” Doing something they did regularly (hiking) is a good way to disguise FA from the other spouse and grieving family.

What is there here to upset family? There’s a lot out her about this case. Except for WS posts are not “nice”. But they have to play nice or get TO. They think they are sleuthing by posting MSM links and tweets. Sleuthing is getting the real story, the whole story.

Anyone with a brain knows the FBI does not investigate contacts of persons killed by weeds. Honestly. Where would they even begin? Sir: do you think John Gerrish would deviate from a cut trail and fondle weeds or strip and play in stagnant water?

How true! But, let’s pretend a large floral blue mat eradicated the four of them. Never mind kids up and downstream played in the same water all weekend and guess what? They lived! Farm stock did not die from drinking and cooling off in the water. All that’s left is a complete toxicology analysis and to determine what killed them, a clean sample is needed.

The linked articles clearly state hazmat & algae did not cause the deaths.

Good point. Maybe they didn’t want the nanny to find them. Maybe they wanted to die in the open in nature. Maybe they hiked a couple hours and talked about their plans if this was a pact of some type. No one knows what problems they might have been experiencing. Could have had health or financial issues, maybe involved in some type of illegal activity or hundreds of other things. My house is completely renovated but I still have other things going on. Whitney Houston had a nice crib. So did OJ and Anna Nicole. Stuff happens.

Could very well be. Really not much to discuss as you’ll discover. People don’t read the facts and based on SM photos from years ago they assume Gerrish and Chung had the perfect life. I suspect Gerrish/Chung led a life so far from the reality of a lot of posters that they are truly clueless.
None of John’s previous work family has spoken out, only his friend, a realtor and his dad and uncle.
One weird comment from Ellen’s brother is all we’ve heard from her family.
