Couple differences between a SCOTUS nominee and Senator.
Senators are elected for a 6 year period of time. SCOTUS is a lifetime appointment.

Seems like one’s lifetime conduct is more relevant to their government job than others.

That would explain why there were literally only 2 questions, no baselines, and none that delved into any details.
