Because there is literally NEVER a circumstance where is there is NO racism, when white people are involved. And I say this AS a white woman. I AM a former racist.

The only racism that happened here was by four black men against a white woman. They chose her for a reason.

They chose a very nice, kindhearted woman who was working in their community to make life better for people who are sick. Shame on them.

What makes you assume the guys were from “that” neighborhood. They could be from the suburbs visiting Manhattan for the day.

There are a lot of racists and mentally unstable people responding to this thread.

I don't want this thread to be shut down because I think it's been a valuable conversation, but it also seems like there's nothing new to discuss at the moment so let's not get locked into some pointless back and forth with someone who's just trying to provoke. That way the thread is still here should there be any new developments.

Since the men went into hiding there probably will not have anything new. They'll cover up the rest. The hospital will probably let her return (or they will fire her and the attorney will sue). It doesn't meet the media's needs for clicks. They don't want to hear this woman did nothing wrong, they want to hear she was a horrible white woman who was in the wrong. I'd love to see the police or media find those men and get to the truth.

How do you know that?

I doubt she means they’re sequestered somewhere. It just means they’re not going to come forward, hence hiding from the public/media.

We don't know if she was nice or kindhearted but she didn't deserve what happened to her. We have no idea who those men were as no one in the media or social media has identified them or sought out their story or what happened. All we know is a video showing part of the story was put online and it went viral and this woman was blamed when she more than likely wasn't at fault (and she could be at fault but those men nor the company will confirm or deny anything). And, this woman lost her job because of the video when it had nothing to do with her job or her job performance. Her life is ruined.

It's been more than a week. Where are they? Why not speak up and tell your side of the story, post your receipts and the rest of the video? So, if they haven't been identified or spoken to anyone, that means they are in hiding.

Her career is likely over. With her position as a PA you would think she would have been able to navigate the bike situation with more civility.

The majority of sane women are not going to put themselves in harm’s way over something as trivial as fighting over a Citibike. New Yorkers are unpredictable and the bike fiasco could have had a different outcome.

A man approached her when she was on a bike after a 12-hour shift. She was tired and wanted to get home. We don't know what happened prior but she probably was civil which is why they aren't showing it. She had a man grab the bike she was on and shove it into the dock. What do you think she should have done differently beyond walking away but she couldn't fully as his arm was around her and he was pressed up against her side? How about what should that man have done differently? He could have said, hey I rented that bike, and showed her the receipt. Or, he could have taken a picture, send it to customer service for a refund and gotten another bike. She was in fight or flight mode having someone be aggressive with her.

Why haven't we heard from the men? Why don't we know their names?

They’re not being doxed because they’re black. No offense intended, but we’re currently very partial as a society currently. Same reason we’ve never heard more about the trans shooter, seen their manifesto, etc.

Lol, Monique Judge teased some "insider info" from the hospital on Twitter this afternoon, but then she posted it and it's just an internal email from the hospital saying they were aware and disturbed by the video incident, and to remind employees that when they wear branded scrubs and other clothes outside the hospital, their actions will be associated with the hospital. They don't condemn anyone or even take any stance on the video -- it's just bland, corporate CYA.

She has also posted a press release the hospital released, like it's some kind of secret gotcha. It's a press release. It was released to the press. It includes the language they posted to their twitter as well.

Judge is like "if you can confirm you received these emails, please let me know!" Like these are some kind of gotcha. She's become hilarious to me.

It’s clear you’d like this to be the summary of the whole episode. But it’s not. You just don’t want to admit the woman was most likely innocent of both racism and stealing a bike.

She'll never admit she was wrong and is looking for the drama for more views which is how she got paid. It isn't a great idea to wear logo scrubs out of the building but reality is they would have figured out who the woman was regardless. Either way, he approached her, he docked the bike with her on it, etc.

I think that letter was sent (May 17) before her attorney came out with the receipts. Which makes it even less interesting.

Let it go. You got this one wrong.
