Woody Allen is human garbage too, but he's not trying to make public policy. The GOP literally prevented the US from signing onto the UN Convention on Rights of a Child because they think child abuse is a family decision. The "church" the Duggars represent demand that women be completely subservient to men - and then men can do whatever tf they want. His politics/beliefs absolutely figure in here.

What is the fraud related investigation?

He lost a civil lawsuit last year for real-estate fraud. My guess is that the same conduct was investigated for criminal charges and they subpoenaed his computer in connection with that investigation... and while examining his computer found the CP.

Yes thank you PP. I’m just gutted that anyone has to do this job. It’s one of the greatest public services a person can give but because of the taboo we don’t even give the people who do it their due credit.

I'm betting Anna made an anonymous phone call to Homeland Security tip line to turn in her husband. It's a win-win. Her husband would be locked up, she will no longer be bound to him, the kids are protected, etc.

There were researchers who wanted to study pedophiles (the article I saw came out maybe a decade ago?) because there is some suspicion that this is something that arises in humans sometimes, and they suspect that there are more pedophiles out there, ones who do not offend. I believe the GOP shouted it down; imagine if they’d been able to glean some ways to identify pedophiles and prevent them from victimizing children.
