Best Post I’ve Seen in a Month on DL/Hybrid Choice

The stupidest part of the response in my opinion is the idea that one teacher can DL for the entire county. There’s no real assessment of student work in that scenario.

OP doesn't realize that his/her kids will be behind those who can afford private tutor, John Hopkins online courses, or private schools. FCPS highschoolers will be competing for college spots against out of state students where schools remain opened. I am fine with that, the more stupid kids around, the better mine kids will do.

Okay 302 kids won’t die... but how many kid deaths you would be willing to accept?

203? 103? 03? Yeah just tell me the number y’all...

Multiplying by zero continues to be inexplicably hard for people. Joe should consider the potential damage his supervision over DL may impose on his kids.

The reason the hybrid option is offered instead of just reopening schools as normal is to reduce the transmission of the virus.

Many have, or they’ve had fewer students due to parents keeping them home.

He's a liar. He never had any intention of sending his kids to hybrid. He should just own that label. The "best post"...what a joke.

Summer camps are also running. reduced capacity but protocols in place to keep the kids safe. I haven't heard of any big outbreaks. My son's Taekwondo studio is also running a summer camp. They are running temperature checks, using hand sanitizer, having the kids wear masks and social distancing. They also thoroughly clean the areas each day.

Why are they all Christian camps?

Based on the figures Betsy Devos used on CNN today, only 37 FCPS students should die from COVID, so that’s good news.

It's sad that you think your kid can only do well if other kids aren't able to get a good education due to the pandemic.

Existing infection rates for COVID are based on a period when almost no one was wearing masks, so not really applicable to the current period.
