MoCo isn’t moving forward, despite MD going to Phase 2

You don’t know much about children/teens if you don’t understand the depression, anxiety and stress some have been experiencing. I’m surprised you are so flippant about such a serious issue.

Exactly. Isolation and disruption of routine to this extent can be very difficult for children to process.

Email his office. Demand to know why he’s so eager to give revenue to the rest of the state.

I am about to but I need to convey my thoughts professionally first and every time I try to email him I lose it!!!!

Outdoor dining opens tomorrow.

Remember people, this is not about giving your kids a place to play, it's about trying to keep businesses going while not overwhelming the limited number of hospitals we have for a large population.

3 MCPS students committed suicide this past week.

We have to give kids somewhere to go and something to do. This is having a horrific impact on some kids.

Outside of a couple of Silver Spring hospitals, MoCo hospitals have *never* been overwhelmed, even at the height of the pandemic.

Kids killed themselves because of lockdown? Is that what you are saying?

New poster and absolutely they are first hand family experience with this. If you are doubting this you are an asshole!

I agree. I have never hated a local public ejected figure more.

Wow. You’re doubting someone who says they have firsthand experience with youth suicide? You’re the one who’s an ass.

I have a friend who works in MCPS. Her principal told them today.

Why are you doubting this?

Because I don't believe what I read on social media without a legit source.

DP. I have and will again. Especially if he tries to override the state on daycare openings/capacity.

Why the hell would I make this up?! That would be so thoroughly evil.

So I hope folks realize that everything in the Phase 3 column for MoCo—libraries opening, pools with more than lap swimming, etc.—aren’t happening until there’s a vaccine or treatment.

Why?

Because Hogan isn’t instituting Phase 3 until then. You can see it here on page 28 of MD’s recovery plan: https://governor.maryland.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/MD_Strong.pdf

It's going to be more complicated than that. Hogan seems to be suggesting that we'll a gradual reduction of restrictions as we go through the stages. I fully expect, for example, that we'll see libraries reopen with mask requirements and capacity restrictions. And aren't we already doing that with pools in other parts of the state?

Yeah, but pools aren’t in Phase 3.
