Elrich said *maybe* if trends continue.

Sorry!! I’m hating it too.

Why the rush? It seems like a good slow reopening to me, enough to try to save businesses and people's jobs but not enough to make cases spike.

Outdoor dining opens tomorrow.

Remember people, this is not about giving your kids a place to play, it's about trying to keep businesses going while not overwhelming the limited number of hospitals we have for a large population.

He said likely, not maybe:

"If data trends continue, our Phase 2 reopening is likely to begin sometime next week," Elrich said. "We expect to allow modified indoor retail shopping and indoor religious services, lap swimming, and more."

3 MCPS students committed suicide this past week.

We have to give kids somewhere to go and something to do. This is having a horrific impact on some kids.

Outside of a couple of Silver Spring hospitals, MoCo hospitals have *never* been overwhelmed, even at the height of the pandemic.

Oh, that is so, so tragic. My heart goes out to their families.

PP: we MUST give our children a place to play. We MUST focus on our children and their needs. It's not solely about businesses opening, although that's critical, too. Far too many children are paying a terrible price for the extreme restrictions being placed on them.

I agree. All the decisions are based on adults and aren’t taking into account children’s mental health needs.

Elrich is the left’s Donald Trump. What an ass. The decisions about what can open and what can’t make no sense from any real safety standpoint. Indoor dining yes, outdoor pools, no? What science led to that conclusion? He’s forming a committee to advise? Three months too late.
And worse than that, we’ve been completely abandoned by the state. Hogan has lost any and all credibility he had with me. I am tempted to stop paying state taxes since the state seems to have left us to be residents of MoCo alone.

+1. Our pediatrician since March said he is daily talking to parents about serious mental issues that are related to Covid . Teenagers, kids in athletes are at high risk with the change. I work with children’s hospital a bit and the specialists are seeing the same thing but often add on a chronic illness.

Elrich just now on Twitter:

“@GovLarryHogan mistakenly said I was ready to ‘open everything.’ I wish we could but we continue to rely on the data to protect public health. Today I laid out what will be allowed in Phase 2, which could begin next week if the data continue to improve.”

What a clown.

Email his office. Demand to know why he’s so eager to give revenue to the rest of the state.

Kids killed themselves because of lockdown? Is that what you are saying?
