MoCo isn’t moving forward, despite MD going to Phase 2

You are insane.

The MoCo dashboard continues to improve. We are maxed out at 14 days of declines on:

Hospitalizations
ER visits
ICU admissions
ICU bed utilization
Ventilator utilization
Test positivity

We are at 13 days of declines on deaths.

We are at 12 days of declines on cases, and 8 days of declines on acute care bed utilization.

Test capacity is at 3.8%.

Someone tell Elrich, so he can change the goalposts again.

Have already forwarded the mail, informed our tax guy we’ll be filing two states, and packed up the SUV.

MoCo, DC and Arlington local “leaders” can keep doubling down in their insanity.

Same. We bailed on MoCo for a freer state out of the reach of Elrich's authoritarian control. Feels so good escaping the crushing boot heel of liberal socialist oppression.

Ha! This can’t possibly be real. I mean, the pandemic restrictions are hella annoying at this point. But you sound like a crazy person.

Marc Elrich is disgusting.

Just because HE is morbidly obese and would probably die from corona doesn’t mean I have to live with the same precautions as he does. Maybe if Marc Elrich could stay home in his own big house instead of insisting of getting all his favorite takeout food the rest of us could go out and live our lives without worrying about breathing on him the wrong way. I do NOT want the government to force me to live MY life at the lowest common denominator as obese people with health problems! Fat and unhealthy people can stay home and spare us the eyesores anyway. Let the rest of us out!

Preoccupied with weight much??

WTF is going on with this thread? Is there a full moon?

Apparently Elrich has lost 50lbs recently. Good for him. It's been a real struggle for me.

What? Your family is dysfunctional

Why?

Because Hogan isn’t instituting Phase 3 until then. You can see it here on page 28 of MD’s recovery plan: https://governor.maryland.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/MD_Strong.pdf

Maryland and DC “consultants” definitely didn’t consult the other 50 states or other countries in that one.

These off market Reopening terms will accelerate people’s moves and relocations. Already the schools are at a significant disadvantage versus other states, on national calls they have nothing to say except all the 20 ways they’re going to try NOT to reopen. Everyone else is trying to make sensible plans to reopen.

nYC has had the largest volume of movers of fully loaded homes it ever has; these are permanent moves out of that area. Between asinine taxes, messing around with schooling, and politicized shutdowns, people are voting out with their feet.

We can't quite leave MoCo yet for family reasons, but we drove to an open state a few weeks ago and put down a contract on a house that we can escape to. Can't wait to spend the rest of the summer in the normal world!

We added 5 deaths, bringing our 7-day avg to 4.86.

Our positivity rate is 8.93%; MD’s state positivity rate is 6.94%

And.. it's up again today.

7 more deaths

1.4% increase in confirmed cases compared to 0.5% increase the day before.

Deaths are what we call a "lagging indicator." Not really relevant for current decision-making.

Do you not have any friends who live in other states than around here? if not, find a way to Wake Up.

Good god, he lost 50 lbs and still looks like that?

OK fine, I lashed out at Elrich's appearance because I can't stand him, but my point is this - the person making the rules has a higher personal risk than I do, and if he as a 70 year old fat guy needs to take greater precautions then that is HIS prerogative, not MINE. I live a healthy lifestyle and take responsibility for what goes into my body, for a number of reasons least of which is to have a healthy immune system and not get sick at the drop of a hat like less healthy people do. Why do I have to be punished because other people are irresponsible and weak? Just because most Americans are fat and sickly and lazy doesn't mean those who aren't have to take the same precautions as they do. Let me live my life, and if you don't like it, then feel free to social distance from me.

That's funny. There are absolutely no for sale signs in my neighborhood, and we usually have pretty high turnover as I live in an "affordable" area.

It's weird, outside dining did open up before this weekend. You would think the complainers on here didn't even notice.

Is this the 15 to 20 people who made up a "protest" of Montgomery County's pace of reopening, and shouted down Ehrlich during his press conference? You are an embarrassment. Only during a pandemic that calls for social distancing can a handful of malcontents even be called a "protest."

You need to give up your fantasies of royalty. You were not elected into office, Ehrlich was, and he's calling the shots. The vast majority of people who vote are happy with him. Get over yourselves.

Are you guys not seeing cases picking up in other states where they opened up too prematurally? What makes you think MoCo will be any different than those states? I am glad County Ex is standing firm and going slow.
