I’ll take the word of my friend who has the unfortunate personal experience to back her claim over whoever you are. Telling Germans who went through the war that they don’t know what they are talking about would be pretty arrogant. It may seem unfathomable today, but Hitler was enormously popular before the war. Of course after the war, defeated Germans changed their tune.
