Bullis Lacrosse Situation

JB's legacy is not at stake. His younger players can improve in his system. Not all winning teams are made by incoming recruits.

Almost every school has that board member or 2 who is adept at getting what s/he wants. I would not be surprised if the member above is one of those. And while I do feel for the child, his parents should have thought about that before making it their business to meddle in the school in this manner.

Long time lacrosse guy here. I think it is an overstatement to say the HC’s “legacy” is at stake. Bullis has had a handful of good teams recently. Rob Bordley over at Landon has had 4 National Championship teams and that program is a machine. Prep is a far superior program to Bullis historically and has a lot more to offer lacrosse players than Bullis. JB did some serious recruiting to put teams on the field recently that could compete with those two programs. The school administration clearly supported him. Looking forward to seeing how this ends. Assume he is looking for new assistants. Will whoever orchestrated the failed coup head to other schools? Youth sports are so crazy sometimes with people losing perspective.

4:56, you are way over the line now. I hope that your HOS, your AD and your coach figure out who you are and give you some sort of consequence for bullying behavior. You need to stop.

The real bully is the perpetrator of all this. Has been for years when he and his BFF were in charge of Bethesda Lacrosse. Brought his MO to DCE and tried unsuccessfully to also bring it to Bullis. Obviously playing out of his league. Well deserved humiliation.

But his son doesn't deserve it. He is just a child. Who knows, he may support his father wholeheartedly or he may be absolutely mortified and overcome with embarrassment. It isn't for us to know. It is for us, as adults, to avoid bullying a child and to teach our children to not be bullies, either. If you want to go after the father then have at it; however, you should do it in a way that leaves the son out of it.

Any man who attempts to derail another mans career is fair game. He made the first move. Screw him

JB is a teacher, correct? That’s his primary job and therefore his career. And when Bullis admin let him go before reinstating him, they wanted him to stay teaching; or in other words, keep his career. It’s really not that hard to comprehend.

Coaching lacrosse for all HS coaches in our area is a relatively low paying side gig, especially for the time commitment They generally do it for the love of the game and to teach kids. At least in most cases.

You guys got to take it down a notch. This really isn’t life or death. JB still had a job whether he coached or not.

Yeah right. Like anyone in JB's position would be able to stick around teaching after being removed as coach.

Nobody is attacking any of the kids. People are pointing out that if you act like the parent/board member did, you should be held accountable and not hide. We feel badly for the kid, but daddy put him in this situation.

JB is a good man who did nothing wrong. The DCE helicopter dad Nd the owners of DCE are total scumbags.
Anonymous
Exactly. Daddy tried to muscle him out, and he got exposed.

And a very large chunk of his salary comes through summer camp. If he wasn’t coach, then he probably wouldn’t be able to hold the camp.

So quit glossing over what Anzalone tried to orchestrate here. Daddy got way over his head and lost

Let's see the reinstatement email and evidence the STAB kid is going back.

The kid is going back to stab. It’s confirmed.

Another D1 commit has transferred back to his public school.

And there are rumors the Ohio State football committ refuses to play for JB and is running track.

Bullis lacrosse program will drop big time next year. The IAC is now entirely wide open.

His twitter feed now says he is returning to STAB. HAHA! This alone justifies taking JB to task and supports DA's, however self-serving, push to change the direction of the school's attitude on upper school transfers. Bullis gave this family all the support and assistance in the world and he walks. He will most likely never contribute anything to the school community other than 1 year of lacrosse. That was the family's plan all along and you could see it in the article written earlier in the year.

I would highly doubt Ohio State wants a scholarship player risking injury playing a spring contact sport in his senior year.

Let's see that reinstatement email about JB.

The irony here is that when college coaches find out about this behavior it will have a negative recruiting impact for the son.

Parents you may actually be doing more harm than good by trying to micro manage your son's athletic "career"

Bullis rolled out the red carpet for the STAB kid and the family pretty much told Bullis to kick rocks!

Bullis you look foolish!
