What's going on with FCBEscola NOVA?

Its because there are posts after posts about how FCB is the best at developing, how every single kid benefits from their academy style training, how parents all in complete Nirvana. There needs to be a counter balance to that. The only other club mentioned on DCUM that comes close to the extreme passion is with VYS, and it is the opposite, a lot of bashing. Most other people know that there are both positives and negatives with their club and don't pretend it is totally different than any other club in the area. There are a couple honest parents from FCB that post both positives and negatives, but almost all negative posts get bashed almost immediately multiple times.

If you thread through it you will find some very helpful posts for how it works.

It is very different from the travel scene. So, for people that really loathed the entire travel scene and everything about it--I think there was a bit of a 'hallelujah' moment that finally there was (FINALLY) a viable option to travel soccer. It is pretty much the opposite of that set-up. Is it perfect? Is anything perfect?

There is the one Club guy that likes has his Tourette's-like moments and posts rants about how we are all being hood-winked when it's quite obvious he knows absolutely zero about it. I think that's when the hackles go up and people feel they need to defend their choice. But, really, who cares? People will do what's right by their kid. For those whose only research is reading messages on this Board---it's going to be a tough road ahead. As always, take everything with a grain of salt and healthy degree of suspicion.

Meant to say 3 posts, who knows if it is 1, 2, or 3 people. I'm guessing not 3.

I hear you, but for a long time there have been many more comments, anguished, confused, and otherwise displeased in some way, about Arlington, FCV, Spirit, McLean, and BRYC, among others, than about VYS (sometimes these comments don't mention the club; however, it's often possible to tell which one is being referenced). That radioactive VYS complaint fodder is ancient history by now, and it would take a team of thread-archaeologists with no life to fully unearth the toxin-dense sedimentary layers from that era. People being dissed in those threads may not even be alive any more.

“See? See? 3 posts!! My conspiracy theories were right!” /s

FFS, I’m not affiliated with FCB other than being a fan of the senior team, but I seriously hope I never have to deal with a scummy parent like you.

These are all anonymous posts, who knows, maybe you already have. I could even be your mom or maybe your son.

I am a FCBEscola Nova parent former BRYC parent. We have been in the Escola for the first full year. All I can same is its different, Much more structured. We left BRYC for numerous reasons from coaching or lack there of to player development , etc. Here we are learning the discipline of the possession game. How to make correct decisions under pressure while the team retaining possession. The Escola staff always show up on the pitch looking very professional and dressed alike. I remember when we were back at BRYC the coaches spent more time talking to each other than instructing the players while explain the importance of each drill. BRYC also gave players very little opportunity to move up to their elite team. Basically once you were place on their elite team at U9 no other player could move up and take your spot. At Escola our kids train in constantly changing groups with the intent of developing each and every kid in the Escola.

Many other complaints about BRYC the helped our decision to make the move to Escola. the outside training which is offered as an opportunity to get better BW advanced is privately owned by the technical director and puts money directly to his pocket not back into the club program. They also promote nxtlevel futbol another program privately owned by one of their coaches. Again no money going back to the club just to the coach. Here at the Escola everything is taught within. I can tell you that one of the the BRYC coaches removed his child from BRYC and has placed his child in the Escola to train full time. That should tell you all you need to know.

I can only tell you the experience we have had at the Escola. The issues that continue at BRYC make us feel like we made the correct decision to move to the Escola. I am sure there are other parents who can tell similar stories. Escola might not be right for everyone. The program has worked for us so far after 1 year in.

Basically every family in FCB came from another club where they were not happy with something - coaches, other parents, drama, training. 95% are remaining with FCB. I’d say they have tapped into the people who are looking for something other than the typical DMV Travel experience, and for that segment of people, are delivering. Clearly this won’t be a fit for everyone. There are plenty of people who are happy with their current clubs, despite what is posted on DCUM, and for those FCB is not right. Doesn’t mean one is better than the other. The market is large enough to support different models and frankly the differentiation and competition between clubs is a good thing

This post is entirely too logical and sane for this thread

No, I think this has been touched upon in many previous posts described as a "hallelujah" moment for parents who have been disappointed in previous clubs.

No I don’t. The point is simple. Kids left bad situations and found a place where they are happy. It’s not more complicated than that.

It shows there are a large number of people unhappy with the current situations

Sure, kids move around to various clubs all the time after being "slighted" by their current club, missing out on being selected to the A team, or whatever.

Except that's not what this thread is about. It's about pumping FCB and dismissing and demonizing anyone who presents even the slightest view that is a negative. Seems pretty crazy & fanatic to me. Need examples? Read the thread.
