It will be “D” with a few tweaks.

Any link where we can see the tweaks? Thx!

I'm looking at Board docs and there is now an Option E proposing to start on 8/29 (Wednesday)
This year we started 1 week before Labor Day. It just seems ridiculous to me to start 3 days before Labor Day - at that point why bother starting before Labor Day.

That’s one of the “tweaks”. It wasn’t made public until tonight, so there’s no link yet.

First teacher day, Friday August 17. First student day Tuesday August 28. The last student day will be Thursday June 13 and June 14 for teachers.

And a bunch of 3 hr early release days instead of 2 hr. days.

As it is, on the 2 hr early release days, the kids have 25 min. for each class + lunch.

Now, they'll have to switch to 20 min. classes + lunch. They will spend more time busing to and from school and changing classes than they will spend IN class.

Here's E

Here's the board proposed amendment:

Board Member Proposed Amendment:
Restore the dates presented in calendar D for August and June to include: the start date for new teachers to be August 13, the returning teachers to commence their contract on August 17 as a TW with flexibility to work remotely on that date, the first day of school for students to be on August 28th and the last day of school to be June 13 for students and June 14 for teachers. So it looks like D passed?

Does anyone know if they approved D or E?

No, I don't know lol! It is hard to tell what passed.

I watched. It was D. E starts on a Wed. They are not doing that.

The way I read the agenda, it appears E passed with August and June amended to conform to D. Is that what happened?

Wow. Congrats to the SB. There is something here for everyone to hate. What’s up with these random 3 hour early release days? Weds 9/19, Friday 12/14: etc? They are not the end of the quarter, or before a long weekend, or before TWDs, or before a holiday. 9/14 is just sitting on a Weds in the middle of the week, less than a month after school starts.

What’s the logic?

There's no logic. FCPS is now run by morons.
