Gee, I thought NCS was supposed to inspire young women to take their academics seriously and become the future leaders this country deserves. I think, if there are women who aspire to have husbands with fat bank accounts because they can't hack it on their own, NCS isn't the right place for them. So good riddance.

Sadly, you might look a few years ahead to what those hot husbands are up to next... good luck.

This is really funny.

LOL. The one who bullied me kept getting pumped and dumped throughout her 20s and 30s. She finally found some rando from the midwest to marry her in her late 30s. She lives in the midwest and gained a ton of weight after the kid. In all the family photos, she hides behind the husband haha.

Hope things go better for your "free-spirited" DD.

I'm speechless.

The problem is not rigor, in my daughter's day it was often the top students who were most unhappy. The problem is that the head of the school is largely absent from the life of the school and the school places no real priority on the emotional life of the girls. There's a vacuum that is filled with competitive toxicity. There is bullying and no one seems to care. I will say that the teachers at NCS are a real treasure -- caring, dedicated.

Don't kid yourself, if 15 girls are leaving thats a massive number. Usually its around 5.

Thank you for this sound assessment. My child was bullied at NCS and when I complained to the administration I was told that my daughter was a " wanna be" and I would have to accept that. The bullying girl, it was explained, was a queen bee. This was the school's response. Fast forward several years: the queen bee is employed waiting on tables and complains that the Holton moms come in and are mean to her!!! I don't think the school's response served her well.

This is a made-up story.

I have heard positive feedback about the new head of the Upper School at NCS. Any insight from current parents?

Nope, way high

My daughter is in this class, and yes 15 girls left. A handful for boarding school. None were asked to leave.

Probably a troll. Not accurate count, yes some went to boarding school and yes there was a girl asked to leave in this grade. I would suggest any truth-seeking parent interested in this overtired thread, call the school for factual information.

I'm not a parent in the class but if someone was then it would be easy to see who left if you looked at the directory through the portal I imagine. Just look at the class and see how many girls from 8th are no longer listed. Since it's now late July they have transitioned out those who left and added new girls. Easy to see.

Now that the admissions season is over, this thread should become dormant. When the season starts again, this thread or one like it will be a hotbed of activity as parents to try to maximize their chances of admission by posting negatives on an anonymous blog. Good luck with that. There just aren't enough seats.
