One of the victims requested that everything be destroyed. She was afraid an unredacted version would get out. A judge agreed. But really, it's too late now.

Interesting link in there regarding Gothard's sexual misconduct. It makes me wonder how common this type of thing is in the quiver full/ Gothardite movement

Seriously. Gotta love these people. Always found to be what they are supposedly against.

freejinger is so overloaded right now you cannot even refresh or post.

Wow, that link is surprising! Someone posting in 2007 who knew all the details of the police report, etc.
Can't believe they have kept it a secret for so long.

What I find strange is that they knew there was a police record somewhere that could be made public at any time, and they just went on publicizing their family for a decade with this hanging over their family.

Funny, because I often feel that way about liberals. And I'm not saying I agree with the "quiver full or gothard" lifestyle. I am not even sure what it is.

I don't see this ending well for Joshy

Says a lot about the kind of person you must be that you are amused by this.

I'm not amused at all. It struck as tragic that with this: losing his job, ruining his family and owing the IRS that this might not end well.

Whats that say about me now, since you know all about me oh psychic one?

Your posts speak for you, but if you're that insecure that you need my opinion, I think you got awfully defensive when I posted my observation that you seemed amused by his troubles, and now you seem immature for the way you responded (and defensive).

NP. Now you are backpeddling after being called out for being nasty.

I would say any group that believes in hierarchy and "curing" its own without seeking outside justice is corrupt and suspicious.

He was a teenage boy who had little to no contact with any other teenagers. He was curious, he was isolated, he couldn't talk to his parents, his siblings or any friends about what he was feeling. It's doubtful his parents provided anything beyond the sex is for after marriage and masturbation is a sin. I see how this situation happened and honestly, I blame his parents more so than I blame him. He was a naive kid with no where to turn for help or support as he was growing up.

Agreed. His parents are monsters.

Yeah, I had heard this rumor years ago and I don't follow the Duggars closely, I have to wonder about TLC's due diligence, seems like this secret wasn't all that secret

All of you crying out about brainwashing and cult need to remember Josh was subject to that as well.

I agree. A 13/14 year old boy who was just starting to have sexual feelings and is homeschooled and the only females he is exposed to are his sisters. Maybe there was never a birds and bees talk. What he did was wrong and inappropriate and the whole family needed counseling at the time but it does not mean he is a lifelong sexual predator. He was a child at the time.

You might be right, or not, I don't know...but maybe starring in a family values tv show and being the frontman for a supposedly family values organization us a bridge too far

Children need to be taught by their parents what is appropriate and what sexual feelings are that happen when a child starts puberty. He probably had no clue what was happening at the time.
