Yes. They are called Hungry Man, or Lean Cuisine, or even Amy's. The frozen meal category is enormous now.

I love lima beans. Can't believe there are all these haters on here.

Yes, we were poor. I'd rather die and try and make my kids eat it.

I ate this all the time growing up in West Virginia.

This thread made me realize why my in-laws eat the way they do, they are stuck in the 80s. Processed yellow American cheese slices, packaged hamburgers and hot dogs on white buns and every dessert is made with about 80 percent cool whip. They are not poor, just stuck.

Brach's jelly nougat candies
Creamed chipped beef (I still have this once every few years)
Scrapple (I read the package when I was a teenager and never ate it again)
Bologna sandwiches on white with mayo
I love ambrosia and forgot about it, may have to make an exception to my no cool whip rule
Pinwheels marshmallow cookies

Most of what we ate was good quality homemade stuff I still eat though like meat loaf, sloppy joes, homemade chicken noodle soup, marinara sauce from scratch, homemade cakes, pies, etc.

I haven't thought about those big bins of Brach's candies at the grocery store in years. My mom would never let us get any, and I swore that as an adult I would buy huge bags of them.

My mom would fill a pan with olive oil, S&P, and garlic. Then she'd add it a bag of frozen lima beans and cook them until they were fairly crunchy on the outside and warn and moist on the inside.

totally yummy

I love chicken livers. Why don't we eat hem anymore? I like all liver. My dad hated it so my mom would fry chicken livers from a whole chicken just for her and me. My grandmother would cook calves liver for me. Oh, and Jewish delis always had the best chopped chicken liver spread. I'm not Jewish but my mom's family is from NYC and liked all these awesome foods I never see in other cities. I think much of it is from Jewish dels. I loved those places as a kid. Anywhere I can get in DC?

when I was young I always wanted a Libby Land TV dinner. My mother refused, the same way I reuse to buy my kids Lunchables.
