Seems to be working mostly for the 2012s. They came from at least six different clubs. |
right, that 2013 FVU team are girls who have been playing together mostly since u9. How does FVU 2014 work? Where are these players coming from? How is a poor coach bringing together kids who aren’t as skilled and haven’t played together? I don’t see it. |
| SYC offers are coming out. My DD, current U13 player, Q4 birthday, coming from a different club, has received an offer for their Aspire U13 next year. Any insights to share? |
I’d try a few other GA tryouts before I took an Aspire offer. |
Understood. Of course there is the 48 hour deadline to accept. We're coming from a smaller club that maxed out in NCSL. |
Just tell them you need a bit more time to decide. Clubs don’t pull offers. |
You are going to run into an issue with the snow storm. Tryouts will be delayed a few weeks. |
because most of those teams only have 5 ‘top’ players. Rosters for NVA, SYC, Mclean, and Arlington are already at 14-18 and the lesser skilled players on all the rosters arent leaving or getting replaced by other lesser skilled players. All teams will carry interchangable lesser skilled players. FVU will be no different. Unless a group of highly skilled players actively leave together from one team to another team, most of those clubs will remain the same plus or minus a q4 who is exceptional, and not much changes. Id say VDA and FVU have more upside for potential because of the more fresh start and ability to choose players that havent been at the club for 3 years. |
Choose players from where though? Agreed that the GA teams set from existing rosters really just means adding a GA label to an existing team. |
This is my worry. Won't be able to check out other clubs with the snow. DD was invited out for an ID session a couple weeks ago at McLean, but we haven't received any feedback yet. |
If the coach didn’t ask to talk to you after then not promising. That 2014 team is pretty much set. While I’m sure the SYC Aspire team will be competitive, I am not sure you are buying much by asking for more time. It stinks, but you kind of set yourself up for this situation. Personally, I would just mentally prepare for other teams. FVU might be the best option to make a first team if that is the goal otherwise RL tryouts are in March and there should be some competitive teams looking for backfilling players that go to ECNL or elsewhere. |
It's to be respected. This forum is testament to how crazy the parents are |
Based on location I’d try McLean, SYC and Alexandria. If you are in Loudoun then NVA, Loudoun and VRSC. |
2012s are working for now. There is no future with FVU. It takes good coaching in the older age groups and not just good individual players. |
I knew you were an employee of MV. So obvious. Is this the new strategy to boost MVU’s image? |
