I would honestly go to a neutral training or pickup like VA Street Soccer, find a girls who boss your girl and then ask them where they play and train and get that parents opinions. Here are a few details from the Rankings app:

Caveat, the club we most likely will be going to is not in the top 10. We are currently in a top 5 program and the coaching is overrated. Being on a winning team does not help a player develop. The top 2014 girl from SYC took a year off from club to train with False8 and then guests with different clubs. You have a lot of that going on and only a few Arlington teams seem to be transparent about who they brought in to guest for them on IG. It is very hard to gauge wins and losses when you don’t know who played unless you were there.

It is really important when discussing wins and losses to get the teams right. For example, on the boys side, the ECNL clubs love to boast victories against MLS Next. They just leave out the II or Academy Division.

A couple players left that 2014 team last year. Seems like something wasn’t working.

SYC 2013/2014/2015 teams are just above average for the area. If you are in this window for the age change, I’d look elsewhere like Arlington, Loudoun, or McLean.

I wouldn’t pay much attention to rankings app for 2014. Many teams do a split schedule where sometimes the top team is playing and sometimes it’s the second team. This throws off the rankings.

Several kids left SYC, but how about we stop calling out individual 11/10 year olds so clearly. That list of 9 above is dumb and meaningless. Loudoun, McLean and SYC have had a fun fall of playing mostly 2nd and 3rd teams so who knows how good they are. Arlington throttles between first and second team players against good teams (ie that is why they tied VSA but lost to SOCA 4-0), GFR has no pathway and Valor is Valor. The teams don’t matter for next year.

Yes that is what we are talking about Arlington plays the 2nd team for half of those games. That’s why people are saying don’t pay much attention to records or rankings for this age.

These rankings are misleading because at Arlington, both the girls and boys 2014 pre-ECNL teams split the ECNL games with their second teams so they can also play in an 11v11 NCSL league. So there are losses attributed to the pre-ECNL squads that are really because the second team lost.

Correct. Rankings are a starting point for a parent who does not really know where to start and to simply explore.

And if you spend a whopping $10 you can see all the game history and decide for yourself which games are important or even get a feeling of what team showed up that day.

All that aside, I go back to the fact that the teams are going to be so different it doesn't even matter how they're performing now. Adding in that they don't even play as the same teach each week currently just adds fuel to that fire.
