Kennedy Hearing

Kerry Kennedy, Brain Worm’s sister, on ❌:

“Medical decisions belong in the hands of trained and licensed professionals, not incompetent and misguided leadership”

"The decimation of critical institutions like the NIH and the CDC will lead to the loss of innocent lives. ...Enough is enough. Secretary Kennedy must resign.”

Joe Kennedy III, former U.S. congressman from Massachusetts and Brain Worm's nephew wrote:

"Senator Kennedy is a threat to the health and well-being of every American."

"The challenges before us — from disease outbreaks to mental health crises — demand moral clarity, scientific expertise, and leadership rooted in fact. Those values are not present in the Secretary's office. He must resign."

Also, “Trump broke with his health secretary's anti-vaccine views on Friday, telling reporters that vaccines, pure and simple, do work.”

RFK Jr has been very careful to praise Trump's Operation Warp Speed while also claiming the COVID vaccines did nothing but kill people. Trump also bragged about how much money the vaccine makers made while RFK is cutting their profits. RFK also casually claimed Tylenol causes autism which caused that company stock to fall. Eventually the corporate world is going to get RFK fired, because obviously dead children and constituents won't make it happen.

Massachusetts is making insurers pay for vaccines recommended by the state and not solely those recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. New Mexico is taking steps to ensure that pharmacists can continue to give out vaccines.
Some states are banding together to form regional health coalitions. Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii have formed the West Coast Health Alliance to coordinate their vaccine recommendations. States in the Northeast are considering a public health collaboration.”

I’m sorry Maryland isn’t one of them, maybe you have a maga governor?

No, Maryland is not under restriction and not scrambling because they changed the law in 2024:

Many people voted for Trump because of RFK. According to some polls, he is the most popular Trump administration officials. You may not like that, but if all the breathless entreaties to defend democracy last year weren’t just pageantry (they were, of course), now is the time to hang back and let Kennedy do his thing.

My mistake, I’m sorry!

Just a warning, rfkjr just took aim at rsv, mmr, and hep vaccines. If his group of goons meeting 9/18 as planned, those may become unavailable too. Get them now if you can.

I'd put up with a lot of Trump stupidity if this actually happens!

Now is the time to express our opinions. Call our representatives. It is going to play out how it does though.

Behind the Bastards has a terrifying series of podcasts about him from last summer - very well done.

Bill Cassidy is really leaning into this angle.

It’s a total absurdity. Hearing Bill Cassidy try to get RFK to agree with medical orthodoxies that RFK passionately disputes for the sake of Trump is really something. I recall during RFK’s confirmation Cassidy saying something like “I know you want President Trump to be successful” as though there were any chance that Kennedy’s primary loyalty were to MAGA rather than MAHA. Maybe Cassidy is willfully blind (probably); maybe he’s just cringefully credulous, but either way, he got snookered.

Also RFK was Rambo in that hearing

Calling representatives is fine and great. Inverting federalism to stymie federal policy directly responsive to the a major constituency of the last successful presidential campaign is not.

Cassidy had the opportunity to vote against confirming RFK Jr. and chose not to. Mitch McConnell could have shown some leadership at the 2nd impeachment and had Trump convicted and banned from seeking further elective office, which would have been the appropriate consequences for Jan. 6th. Neither chose to exhibit any statesmanship or courage. We will wind up with a major outbreak of some entirely preventable disease thanks to these lunatics.
