The next Democrat president should tear this monstrosity down as well as the trump patio and restore both the East Wing and the Jackie Rose garden
The WH should also be fumigated to get rid of the trump stench.

The titans of tech are largely funding the ballroom. Trump hosted them for lunch a few days ago. It should be noted that these same titans of tech, according to Bloomberg, are planning large monuments to themselves in the Bay Area. One tech billionaire is planning to rebuild the ancient wonder The Colossus of Rhodes, sheathed in gold, on an island in the San Francisco Bay, but with his face plopped on.

Why can't these silicon valley billionaires fund public libraries, public school buildings, and museums to build up communities like the Carnegies and the other titans of industry from the distant past?

Capitalism gone amok. We have Americans facing going hungry and losing healthcare while billionaires build golden monuments to themselves. It's the enshittification of America.

No. Stewart McLaurin is probably MAGA. He was conservative when I worked for him in another life and his LinkedIn post when first announced was positive. Sad, since Jackie Kennedy established it.

Can those private individuals donate to Argentina instead so my tax dollars aren’t spent on them?

We are bailing out the billionaires >> Bessent and friends who gambled on Argentina’s economy and lost. So that’s not happening.

The demolition picture makes me sad. It's a physical manifestation of Trump tearing the country apart.

The ballroom behemoth is unnecessary and will detract from the stately presence of the White House.

Apparently the administration is not comfortable with the scrutiny of the building of the new ballroom. I wonder why?

WSJ NEWS EXCLUSIVE
“The Treasury Department instructed employees not to share photos of the demolition of parts of the White House’s East Wing for a ballroom. The instruction went out after images of construction equipment dismantling the East Wing facade went viral online, as Treasury’s headquarters is located next door to the East Wing, giving employees there a front-row seat to the construction of Trump’s $250 million ballroom.”

But we don't need it. And it destroys the original construction and style that is supposed to be the people's house? You know it's also prob going to be decked out in gold per Trumps tacky taste which just makes it totally weirdo and uncomfortable for everyone. It's awkward to have this and we all know it regardless of how it's funded.

Where is the evidence the ballroom is funded by donations? We should be able to look at treasury accounts and see where the money is collected and spent. In which account has this $200 million been deposited?

In addition, there is absolutely no way that this was competitively bid as is required by Federal Procurement rules. Can't be done in a few months.
