Not sure how I feel about the ballroom, but you do know it's not being paid for by taxpayers, right? Private donations are being used for this.

Those are bribes, not donations.

Bribes and extortion are paying for this. This ballroom is 100% corruption.

Sure. Whatever you need to tell yourself to keep up your constant outrage.

How soon they forget about Hunter’s art

Eric is not selling art. Such outrageous. dishonest false equivalence. If you’re an American, I’m embarrassed for you. You have no pride at all with your head all the way up your King’s behind. So Alpha of you.

No, Eric is having his dad use the power of the office to set up deals all over the world for both the Trump Org and Kushner's funds. even his granddaughter is in on teh grift, selling cheap chinese made clothing online with images from the White House grounds.

They did, remember by doge at Treasury, closing USAID place etc..

Trump gave that money to Argentina, no savings there.

I am astonished that a single temporary resident of the White House can simply destroy the entire East Wing and build a vulgar gold plaited ballroom the size of a football stadium on a whim. I had no idea this was allowed. Trump is turning the White House into a set from Dynasty circa 1984. And undoubtedly pocketing millions from "donations."

We are living through a dark version of Idiocracy. We truly are a nation of morons. What's next? An Ultimate Fighting Cage Match on the South Lawn. Oh, that's right. Already penciled in.

They are not supposed to be able to do this without approval from the NCPC, but since we are in a quasi-authoritarian state with a lawless president, who is going to tell him no?

Oh yeah, I’m sure it’s also a complete money laundering operation for the crime family connections.

Is the historical commission suing?

There was no reason to tear down the east wing. Why not gut the inside? Not that I think this is good idea either but I’m not understanding the need to destroy the exterior at all.

To flex power. Plain and simple.

Also, if you cannot tell the difference between a first lady beautification initiative and Trump's ego, I don't know what to tell you.

When Jackie Kennedy does it, it is glamorous. When a Republican does it, it is a sign of grotesque wealth.
See Ann Romney horseback riding.

Except Melania is a pornstar/call girl turned 1st “lady” and the pres is a pedophile. They are the definition of grotesque. This is all so absurd and only in America!

I don't like Trump, but I don't think ball room is a bad idea. Most national palaces have a grand ballroom of some kind, and the East Room is too small. This is also one area where Trump's opulent sense of taste may suitable.

Except, thanks to Trump, we are no longer the global hegemon, we no longer have an economy that is the envy of the world and we are flouting democratic norms. So, no need for extra space.

We are still the global hegemon. Of course, nothing lasts forever, but no country comes close to the US capability for power projection.

We should encourage Trump to focus on building stuff. The more he is focused on that, the less time he has for other nonsense.

Nothing lasts forever, especially when the idiot in charge is destroying alliances and productive trade.

In 9 months China and the rest of the world have made up more ground than they would have in 20 years. The malicious incompetence of this administration is astounding.
