Gross. Go to a museum.

DP. It's gross to want to see tanks?

DP. It’s gross to take your kid to this mockery.

Even Rand Paul thinks his parade is bad optics. It wasn't going to he a waste of tax payer dollars in the style of North Korea till Trump and the Navy and Marine Corps celebrations, also this year, are not planned as parades like this. US armed services parades that honor military usually focus on the people rather than this weird spectacle on the tax payer dollar. What is weird is for any US citizen to embrace a parade that goes against our traditions and Democratic ideas.

Also, taken with the current administration actually screening our military for political affiliation to attend Trump's Fort Bragg parade. We are not North Korea so why is our leadership acting like it?

Than what? A parade with tanks and other activities that haven’t happened yet? It’s impressive how you’ve already calculated the cleanup costs.

How much was the cleanup for January 6? The broken windows, smeared excrement, court costs, treason, and such?

Uh, the current admin estimated clean up costs. It is all over the news, the budget is public. Why are you defending the current administration converting the army celebration to a parade in the style of fascist regimes, and on the tax payer dollar?

Right? How soon these nitwits forget. Or rather, memory-hole.

They didn't cost $45,000,000 which is what the parade for Trump self aggrandizement is costing. Not to mention likely testing up streets in DC with tanks, and other military paraphernalia to make Trump beat his chest like an orange horse's posterior.

BLM was also protesting the murder of George Floyd. Trump is considering giving Chauvin a full pardon.
TACO on that one unless he's more stupid then we thought.

The Navy and Marine Corps turn 250 later this year. So the administration will have to either pour more money into another parade, or admit that it truly was all about Trump's birthday.

US does not typically do North Korea or Iran style military parades, nor was this style/expense of parade planned until Trump took office, nor is it planned dor the Marines or Navy, only the one that takes place on Trump'a bday. But if authoritarian military parades, North Korea style, are your thing, you can always travel there.

This parade is not emblematic of American Democratic ideals no matter one's political leaning.

sposed to rain on the fascist parade
I guess those paid spectators will have to suffer regardless
I expect normal people will stay home

Got tickets just for the fun of it. Probably wont go for a mix of obvious reasons. I tend to avoid any overtly political events. I hate that aspect of the U.S.

I don't think people know about it. I was on reddit looking for images and the "Tank P@rn" subreddit (clean, it's just tanks) has a bunch of tank enthusiasts who don't know a thing about it. You'd think they'd be all over seeing, live, a zoo of their favorite pets.

Anyway, the images of tanks in DC are both cool and disturbing.

I don’t know about the “cool” part. Having lived in several countries under a dictatorship where the military and tanks were used against civilians, tanks on city streets will never look “cool” or normal to me.

What kind of weirdo think tanks on a city street "looks cool?"
