Oscars 2025

So bad and then he was so rude when they tried to play him off. Like why does he think he’s entitled to literally 10x more time than everyone else?! Seemed very full of himself and only wanting to talk about himself. The thank you and the comments about a better world were an afterthought after way too much self indulgent rambling.

+1 Do the interesting, relevant part of the speech first and they’ll give you more time. So much mumbling and lists of people in the beginning. He really does seem to be a jerk.

If so, kind of funny!

Yes, he threw it to his wife. 😂

Oh that’s not his wife that’s his girlfriend. You know whose wife she was though? Harvey Weinstein.

Yikes. Another strike against Adrian Brody.

She left him in 2017 when all of the accusations started. The divorce wasn’t finalized until 2021, but she didn’t stand by him and isn’t responsible for his crimes.

He was always gross and there was zero reason for any woman to ever be with him other than to advance her career and be really rich. Even when he was at the top of his game, no one was saying "Oh, he's so hot" or "He's such a nice guy with a wonderful sense of humor." He was a power broker who looked like Jabba the Hut on his best day. And his reputation as a lech was well known (even if people didn't know the non-consensual part of it). She's not responsible for her crimes, but it's all still gross.

Sorry, you're saying that it's suspicious whenever someone marries a fat person? Or is the crime that he was both fat and successful - that's what someone's not allowed to decide they want in their life?

Obviously Weinstein is a horrible person who did unforgivable things. But you're saying before his ex-wife knew about those things she already should have rejected him?

She’s almost 60

And she's wealthy AF, she could have bought a dress that wasn't so tight that you can see her stomach pooch.

It's an optical illusion. If you look at the pattern, you can see why it can look rounded or flat depending on the angle. Like Escher.

If you looked at HB and saw something other than a miracle you were smoking something I would like to stay far away from! Her face looks flawless - the dress is stunning and she is wearing it instead of it wearing her.

I commented that this year seemed to be missing some star power or charisma. Someone like Nicole, Denzel, Viola Davis, Matt Damon, somebody!

Or Cate Blanchet, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt… At least they had stunning Halle Berry presenting.
Everyone in Hollywood looks the same nowadays…fake: faces, boobs, teeth, everything. Not many naturally gorgeous or even just natural faces in Hollywood. I miss old Hollywood class and glamour.

My kid said Conan O'Brien reminds her of Elon Musk and at first I was like "no they look nothing alike" and then I realized that due to the work they've both had done, they kind of do. Those super smooth foreheads. It makes them all look like pod people.

Eeek just nooo. That’s like saying a white Chevrolet SSR (Conan) looks the same as a white Tesla cyber truck (Musk) because they both have smooth front hoods.

Conan is impish, and quirky in a fun, self-depreciating and warm way.

The shadow president is a grumpy troll, and quirky in a callous, tone deaf, and arrogant way.

Apart from their vibes being so different, they don’t look alike at all.

Teenagers often seem to think everyone over the age of 50 with similar skin tones look the same.

Love this public stage win for 'No Other Land.' The stone faced people full of hate in the audience are telling.

Why do we think the 5 nominated best songs were not sung, but the opening got 3 songs dedicated to Wicked?

And when they actually honored the nominated songs, there were people talking over them, so you couldn’t even hear the songs.

What was the Academy thinking? Isabella Rosselini - it was her year. So mad.

These get political. This is their way of thanking KDHarris closest they could find to a Jamaican this year. It is all political.

She also won every award leading up to it. This was not a category that was in doubt, as dumb as the movie was.

Really wanted anyone other than Brody to win. Gross.

I’m glad only because those trash Emilia Perez songs would have been torture.

Anonymous wrote:Saw some scenes from Anora.... I didn't realize it was that explicit tbh. I thought it going to be like Hustlers explicit lol. In a year where theres several other great older actresses like Demi and Fernanda, this is pretty outrageous.

Why don't they stop pretending and just rename the Best Actress category to Best Simulated Sex Worker and be done with it.

+1

The past two years I think they chosen the wrong winner. And that is exactly what the two have in common. I know Hollywood would phrase it as empowerment but it feels like a step backwards. Let’s watch women be used for their bodies- haven’t seen that storyline before! Such a shame last year because Lily Gladstone should have won and had such a unique performance.

I’m chortling at the idea of Nicole Kidman representing “natural.” Put that woman next to a radiator and she would melt.

Do you really believe that she had absolutely no idea what her husband was up to?

I thought the James Bond segment was awful. Beautiful production but all singers were off. It felt very random.
