I guess it makes sense that Trump fired all the Inspectors General --- they are the ones who would be investigating the MASSIVE WASTE of paying employees with tax dollars to do nothing at all. |
No it says you don't work |
Actually it says you don't work unless they decide to make you work. |
The jig is up. The problem is that these people can't work in the private sector where there is accountability and you have to be in the office. I see all of the government teleworkers - they are at yoga in the middle of the day, playing tennis, hanging out with their kids on the playground. It's much easier to be fired in the private sector. |
So you’re saying that you’re also spending your entire workday at yoga, tennis and hanging out with your kids? Pot, kettle and all that…. |
How do you see them doing these things while you are in the office working? |
Busted! ![]() |
They can also still fire you and you don't qualify for unemployment. |
Wow, maybe MAGA is right? The news IS fake. It's so irresponsible the news is running away with headlines that this is a buyout. It is not a buyout.
The govt can only give a max of $25k for a buyout. So how can they give much more? Stinks. No guarantees at all you won't be required to work until Sept. The FAQ says you would not be expected to work, but nowhere in the agreement does it explicitly state all of your work duties would be re-assigned. Stinks. The max admin leave allowed is 10 days. So how can they do it out until Sept? Stinks. How can OPM offer buyouts when only agencies have the authority to? Stinks. No guarantee that you'll even stay employed until Sept. They could let you go before then. They have to deal with a budget in March. Why wouldn't they reduce the budget by immediately letting go anyone on deferred resignation? Stinks. The entire thing sounds like a scam. |
This is insane. So the taxpayers get to pay people who aren't working for nearly a year, just so he can say he shrank the workforce? This will only be worthwhile if they limit who can do that to those who don't do anything important anyway. Otherwise, the people with real skills will grab the opportunity, knowing they can find another job, and the dead weight will be all that's left. |
Unless you are financially set to retire or have another job opportunity set, a buyout does nothing for someone.
It also means jobs that were being done will no longer be completed. How does this help the American person? The government is NOT a business and shouldn’t be treated as one. The government is there to serve the needs of the people. Based on everything happening in the US, I see plenty of need. |
I know a few teleworkers, and not only do they actually work, but they still have their little kids in daycare to boot. They have to be available on the computer or by phone every minute of the day, and have to give notification when they leave for a break or lunch. I don't see how anyone could be at yoga during the day. They can't even grab a snack when they want. |
They’re extrapolating the Twitter firing playbook without a clue about how it works in government. |
Yep, it’s nothing more than a vanity project for Trump‘s propaganda. |
Agree. I do know some who really do work at the computer all day but I know others who play a lot of golf , tennis and yoga during the work day. |
