So who has made their decision? Is anyone accepting the offer tomorrow? |
Nope. Only scammers put time pressure on and don't have legal authority to back of their offer. They can go fork themselves. |
40k have signed up for the buyout as of today. |
Hell no. Twitter, remember? Our union advises against it. |
Prob Feds that voted for Trump |
The only person I know who took it was a guy in my group who was going to be fired for legit issues anyways. |
I am actually surprised by how many are taking the option. Mostly recent hires (last 5 years) or those eligible for retirement.
I honestly think if the first email and subsequent FAQs were more in depth they would get a lot more takers. |
Makes sense. There doesn't seem much incentive to try to weather the next 4 years of this madness if you don't have much put in yet. |
There are so many issues with the offer.
Why is there no govt header? Why is there never any name and signature on the offers or emails? Where is the proof of funding? Why isn't the document a locked PDF requiring a certified signature? If they simply offered a trustworthy deal many would take it, because it's fair. After 5 fixes and follow-ups or whatever, no one can knows if it is legally binding. If they simply included buyout funds in this rounds of funding negotiations and had a lawyer review the offer before sending it out, people would take it. It is so scammy and sketch looking. |
Of course it’s a scam. Like the Nigerian prince who needs your urgent help. |
I am damned if I do and damned if I don't. I don't trust the deal and believe it is probably illegal. But I am a probationary employee who will likely get fired as soon as Friday if I don't take it. Hoping something comes out of the AFGE lawsuit tomorrow.
|
Your decision. But check out the FAQs or call AFGE. You have rights. Make sure you understand them and don’t inadvertently waive them. |
Morons. they'll never get paid And they've lost their sick pay and health care. Suckers. |
How many feds retire each month anyway? I heard 10k. They wanted 200 k to quit, so they have about 170k to go. |
