Biden had a chance here to take a moral stance against the death penalty and potentially impact policy going forward. By not commuting all of the sentences, including the military ones, he’s undermined his own position. It’s so hard to understand what this man stands for. He seems to stand for nothing. |
After Biden’s mass pardons and commutations, Democrats will have no space to complain about Trump pardoning the J6 defendants. Those people are low level criminals compared to the vicious murderers and other serious criminals Biden has helped. |
What makes a murder based on “bias” worse than a murder based on random crime? This is very arbitrary. |
Firing squad is pretty humane. Sniper round to the head, or squish someone under a massive falling weight. Or have them stand on a target and hit them with an artillery round like the North Koreans do. What’s inhumane about that? |
Very true. |
But Trump is not being sanctimonious as Biden is. |
You mean other than the criminals who decided to put human beings to death? |
And other than women exercising their “right to choose.” |
This is such a disgusting argument if you think about it. Are you really suggesting that we should tolerate even one violent crime from an undocumented immigrant because overall they offend at a lower rate? How do you ask a person to be the victim of that murder at the hands of the undocumented immigrant? Just gross. Yes, native born and authorized immigrants commit crimes at way too high a rate in this country. But because they have constitutional protections, our ability to deal with crime from that cohort is more constrained. On the other hand, crime committed by those who should not be here to begin with, even if committed at a lower relative rate is just so devastating to the victims. So let’s put it this way, which would you rather have? A. Higher crime rate but lower total crime, or B. Lower crime rate but higher total crime (this is the one your arguing for). Stop asking Americans to tolerate any more crime than absolutely necessary. |
DP. So a few days before Christmas you want the to tell the families of children gunned down in classrooms that their murderers death sentence has been commuted. |
So we should all take the law into our own hands? |
For context: What I responded to. Yeah, and he could have waited until after the holidays so the families of the victims wouldn’t have so horribly blindsided. But the Democrats have never cared about crime victims, so why would Biden even think about how his actions might feel to the families of the victims? Of course he doesn’t care. |
And not pardoned. Still in prison for the rest of their lives. |
Maybe. Unless Biden part two decides he doesn’t agree with life in prison. |
Republicans aren’t the ones who just commuted the sentences of child killers. |
