The Catholic Church is on its way to oblivion because so few catholics attend services.

I'm not a Catholic but I drive by the Catholic church every Sunday and the parking lot is overflowing.

There are plenty of traditional Hispanic Catholic families in the US and also African American Catholics.

2016: Why didn't Hillary Clinton campaign in Wisconsin?!

2024: Why did Kamala Harris campaign in Wisconsin instead of going to a white tie dinner in New York City?!

The election tradition white tie dinner… which was carried live across cable, YouTube, twitter, etc. and creates hundreds of millions of impressions via viral clipped content and Friday news articles?

No one cares about the Al Smith dinner

Plenty of Catholics in PA do. PA and NY news is deeply entwined.

And yet the Catholic Church I attend in NOVA is almost always so crowded that people are standing along the walls and overflowing into the hallways and at least half are young families and/or people in their 20s and early 30s.

Religion is with every passing generation becoming less and less a part of cultures all over the world. Good. Maybe we'll have world peace one day.

Wait - was Joe Biden, our Catholic-in-Chief at this dinner? If not, why?

He was asleep because he is very old and overwhelmed by trying to perform the very demanding job of POTUS. Hopefully we have all learned our lesson about voting in almost 80 year old presidents. Be smart, Vote harris!

This woman is nuts.

It’s clear that Trump’s tank is empty. Even his campaign is saying so. He’s old. Gearing up for days to attend a late night event is common for elderly people. No shame in that. But he can’t keep up with the demands of being POTUS at this point.

He looked healthy and was funny last night.

Biden had moments when he was 78 when he seemed of sound body and mind too. How did that work out? We can't go through that again. Vote Harris!

Nah, I’s rather Vance than Harris as well.

Is that an appropriate joke for this venue?

Catholics laughing about cheating on their wives. Nice!

The joke was about women cheating on their Democrat "man", with an actual manly man. The whole Bull/wife/cuck thing is what he was referencing.

OMG, are you still peddling this song and dance? You’re beyond transparent.

Unfortunately we are just creating new religions that are just as evangelical.

That parking lot is only full because so many parishes have been closed. For example, in Baltimore the Archdiocese initially had 63 parishes and cut it back to 21. 42 parishes closed!!! They’ve been decimated.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore has 153 parishes and missions located in nine counties and the City of Baltimore. Not to mention shrines, chapels as well as Catholic Churches in another rite (Byzantine, Eastern, etc.)

People move around.
