Yeah, you could practically hear the muttered swears and rage-clenched teeth when their narrative about it being a Trump supporter shooting Swifties fell apart. They wanted sooooooooooooo much for it to be the case. So many hopes and dreams pinned on it, all dashed now.
And they certainly can’t discuss the actual shooters - that’s out of the question. There’s no way they’d criticize members of a Protected Class.
So that only leaves the inanimate object to discuss. It must be the gun’s fault. Somehow, some way. It’s the gun’s fault.
