On Reddit:

This happened basically right in front of us. We were on the hill on the left side of Union Station. I heard the guy unload a full clip and I saw about 4 folks drop. I think people thought it was fireworks and didn’t react well enough. Once it cleared I tried to go help out but there was nothing I could do. It was bad. Paramedics arrive shortly after.

Further down the street, another shooting happened. It was maybe 10 minutes after. A crowd of folks started running our way and next thing I knew, we were helping people through the sides of the parking garage to get out.

Hug your families today. It’s a sad day for the kingdom.

Children’s Mercy Hospital confirmed it has received patients in connection with the shooting. I pray these innocent children survive and recover, so tragic that a fun event has been destroyed by 2 terrible people. Hopefully the people who did this will receive life in prison and never are allowed near decent people again.

Or people could not shoot other people.

Nobody has to shoot up a crowd of innocent people. Individuals can choose to follow laws and not harm other people. That’s a great solution: don’t harm other people.

The local news live stream has shown at least 6-7 people escorted by police in handcuffs when I was watching. That's what happens during mass shooting events - people get detained until the cops can sort out stories, get eyewitness statements, etc.

The photos being posted are likely not even the shooter(s).
