What was your favorite piece of clothing from the 1980's?

Black sleeveless mock turtleneck, worn with big silver earrings. Covered up the one and only time I got a hickey - in the summer no less. Fashion to the rescue. Smh.

Anyone remember the Outback Red collection at The Limited?

Never heard about the nightgowns some are mentioning. Maybe regional or a little ahead of my time.

Oh yes. That was a major status brand starting in 5th grade. Everyone wanted the long sleeve henley with a bunch of little buttons and the tag on the outside. Better if you had two different colors to layer.

I still have one! It’s mustard yellow. I haven’t worn it in about 30 years but hopefully my daughter will wear it one day for giggles.

In our area the Outback Red line that was popular had long skirts with lace petticoats and white blouses with lace insets. I was so excited I got the whole outfit when I graduated from 8th grade.

My graduation dress was a pink gunne sax long gown with high neck and lace overlay. I thought it was the most beautiful thing ever! I had seen it in Teen magazine and then found it on clearance after prom season. I then recycled it for a dance in high school.

Sadly we moved in 9th grade and my petticoats were not a thing. But I wore that slip as a nightgown for years.

Probably something color block from Benneton.

I wanted that Esprit tote bag for Christmas one year and they were so hard to find. My Mom got two but gave my cousin the nice red one and I got the ugly yellow one and i was so mad.

I had the red tote and a red sweatshirt!

I just got back from Italy where there are still Benetton stores and my inner 12-year-old was so happy! They still have all the bright colors and the quality was nicer than what's in most stores here at that price point.

You beat me to it! So good!

I had a Girbaud jeans mini skirt, light colored denim, probably acid washed. The Girbaud tag was on the fly, about halfway down. It was not too short, very cute.

That is pretty!
I used to go to the Laura Ashley and Ann Taylor stores on Beacon Street in Boston for a lot of my clothes in college.
