Agree. It's an awful look, no matter how great the body. |
Yes! Tyson's had a whole Liz Claiborne store. I bought my "Liz" perfume there - a red plastic triangle bottle. I can still smell it - absolutely hideous. My poor mom had to live with me and that scent. |
This was one of my favorite Bennetton sweaters. I had this one but in a cardigan:

I had this bra in high school and I thought I was so cool. I was very flat chested, but if the silky, scrunch strap was showing because of my cut off Flashdance sweatshirt I was HOT!

| Generra sweater. Blew nearly my whole back to school shopping budget on it and my mother thought I was nuts. Wore it until she made me get rid of it because it was stained. Even she agreed I got my money's worth out of it. |

| Velour… |
In my dreams, I most certainly was, when I wasn’t David Bowie. |
| My denim jacket, comolete with men's polo cologne dabbed on the color points so I could inhale that all day long |

My prom dress was a cream Gunne Sax with sprigs of pink and green flowers. My date coordinated his forest green tux with it. It looks like a nightgown lol, the antithesis of sexy slinky event dresses of today. I still have it — it was in my daughter’s dress up box. Years ago a friend had an 80s theme party and I was able to squeeze into it.
I bought my wedding dress (1986) at the Georgetown Laura Ashley shop for $400. Silk organza over cotton, hoop skirt, sheer puffy sleeves — think post-Diana. It was lovely quality and comfortable. I kept it for ages until I finally donated it when I realized my daughters wouldn’t want it. I can’t find an image link to embed, but this is the Pinterest link: https://images.app.goo.gl/75xHVT2bHVWyWEqk7 A few ago I spotted my bridesmaid’s Laura Ashley dress in a Takoma Park vintage shop. That was a laugh. |
Yes! Back when the Gap was just really basic sweatsuits and jeans, I had two velour sweatsuits - one in pale yellow the other in pink. I thought I was so cool. |
| I had so many 80s favorites, but two that stand out were my uncle's Army jacket that he gave to me - I covered the front pockets with band pins. And the other was a vintage men's tweed overcoat found at Classic Clothing in Georgetown. I wore the hell out of that coat!! |
