My college-aged daughter went to her roommate's house for Thanksgiving. She texted this to me from the bathroom during dinner--"Their cranberry sauce is in a bowl and you use a spoon to scoop it out and it has actual cranberries and orange peels in it. She was also shocked that they served dinner rolls in a basket with a cloth over it "like a movie or something." No crescent rolls or biscuits from a can to be seen.

This reads like a flex but is actually pretty sad. She's in college and hasn't seen cranberry sauce outside of a can or been somewhere where they serve bread with a napkin over it?! Not sure why thus reads like a brag, that's kind of depressing you could be that underexposed.

I’ve had bread in baskets with napkins at a restaurant but never in someone’s home.

I hosted Thanksgiving once and a guest brought real cranberry sauce. It was so bitter that at dinner, I opened my reserved can. I just couldn't do it. This was also the year they brought a HUGE pan of homemade stuffing when I told them I was making Stove Top. We each flexed. I didn't get my stove top that year but I did get my can o' clump.
