Not what I was told. They take care of their own LI people. They don't care about players getting recruited outside Long Island. YJ North, YJ South, YJMA... they are all franchises, and add revenue to the coffers. That's all. Truth. |
This has been the case for years, so not unique to any graduating year. Players and families usually have a good idea going into tryouts who will make the team. There will be a few (4-5) from the tryout who are selected to fill the roster. If you are not in the know going into the tryout your DD probably has a 5% chance of making the Blue team. The process is very political, so start working the room years in advance. It’s a great money maker for Capital, not a realistic chance for many. |
Not truth. I personally know that TW from LI YJ has helped girls outside the LI club. |
Cool story bro except Capital girls are smart who go on to great schools and Balto kids … eh … |
Cool. That's so awesome. |
It's just a troll. Let him spout nonsense. Capital is proving otherwise. Plus, what is the definition of "super elite". Wouldn't that only be a handful of players regardless of the area? What's the comparison anyway? Baltimore--the historical home of modern lax in the US? LI? All of Jersey? Okay. Name another region outside those three that is consistently better with top club play and recruiting. Philly isn't. Neither is Connecticut or Massachusetts on their own. DC/VA/MD area doing just fine. |
If that's what you want to believe... SMH. |
Working the room for years can be helpful, but you need to have a talented player to push. So be realistic about the player's level of talent and potential before investing the time in politics. No amount of politicking in seventh grade is going to trick D1 coaches, and Capital knows this. Ultimately talent wins. |
I personally know a 24 who reached out to LI and told them they don’t help. So, get your facts straight |
Agree. Which is why she likely made the jump. Far more options for her talent level at Capital and she likely improved more at Capital than she would have staying with YJMA. |
Agree talent is important, but you really need the talent and have to work the room. I’ve seen good talent be left off (for lesser talent) because there wasn’t enough of a relationship with the coaching staff. It’s unfortunate but that’s the reality of it. |
Get your facts straight. I know someone they did help. Looks like different experiences for different players. Not sure why that’s the case. |
I can tell you that there will be a lot of upset stars parents when their daughters don’t make capital blue and girls from heros make the team. |
#1 Good for the Hero’s girls for trying out for Capital. But in my honest opinion, makes no sense to leave one good program for another #2 Going to be a lot of upset parents from many different clubs, but just Stars. Please do not forget that BLC 27 was ranked very highly last year and they all thought they were just going to be transitioned from BLC Blue to Capital Blue. Goes what, what wasn’t the case #3 just because your team is ranked highly in middle school don’t mean it will transfer into their high school team. Middle school is very much an individual game. Meaning, if you have a couple of really strong players, you will be a great team. But that doesn’t transition to high school. You have to be a very strong TEAM player. This will hurt some of the girls that are used to always having the ball in their sticks and just going straight to goal with it |
Agree 100% with 1). If you’re already in, you’re already in - be it Cap or Hero’s. |
