There is no hope deprogramming MAGA, they are ok with calling people "vermin" and setting up camps. Have already had the Beer Hall Putcsh on January 6th.

If they are still MAGAs they are full on fascists and we just have to win at this point.

Time to put the investments in other causes on hold and repair the rift within the family.
The “deprogrammables” are your countrymen and they are created by this country, by all of us. Let’s not pretend these shameful people are not our relatives.

Generational poverty is a result of many factors, but generally speaking, there is generational poverty in every country. When the dems are in control, there are things like a Childrens Tax Credit and SnAP which help address the issue. Further, the Dems believe in public education and the enlightment theory that an educated populace collectively makes good decisions. The GOP are opposed to these ideas, they undermine public education in favor of publicly funded religious education, and i could go on. The bottom line is that for the better part of the second half of the 20th century, the US did well because it invested in public education, it invested in unions and a strong middle class. The GOP has gutted it over tax codes and corproatizaation of everything.

SNAP and child tax credits only incentivize people to have kids in poverty so that they get money and subsidized housing
There needs to be a huge huge investment in several things: birth control (and NOT incentivizing having kids) coupled with educational and wraparound in kind services for the kids already here.
The US did well in the second half of the 20th century because there were not that many divisive, fringe ideas, and because there weren’t too many poor low educated people coming into the country

All Fox News ever showed/ shows is the little bits of footage of morons shuffling, slack jawed, snapping pics of the rotunda. I don’t understand why a few additional minutes of the same stuff is so compelling?
It doesn’t negate all of the violence that the mob of insurrections perpetrated.
There were sympathetic police officers that day.
There were police officers that understood they were hopelessly out numbered and tried to placate and calm the rioters.
