The bus is more of a hassle for some. Especially when it’s late. How do you not get that?

Well when parents are waiting 30 min twice per day in the kiss and ride line instead of letting their kids ride a bus that picks them up and drops them back off very close to home, it's hard to understand. I guess it's stay at home parents who need to feel like they're doing something important. I don't have time for that.

Who waits 30 min?! If you to get to kiss n ride by 8:25 am there is absolutely no line and you breeze right through. And in the pm, show up near the end and same thing. No wait at all.

In PM there is. Parents start lining up way before 3pm. Perhaps they should not allow anyone to line up prior to 325. Next, the school needs to differentiate between pm and am. The cones are probably ok for am but not really for PM. If anything, from a logistical standpoint, the cones slow things down by only allowing one way to exit and it's a very sharp 180degree turn. Also, instead of cars taking up space in the parking lot, they will be idling on Thompson and Misty Creek, inconveniencing the people who live there. Let's see how long this lasts, but I give it a week. They tried this once before and it only lasted a week or two tops.

It not safe when cars pass all the Navy traffic on left on Thompson because they are the through traffics.

Right. I have seen that happen but if people are not going to navy and just driving by, then they are probably confused why there is traffic there and will go around.

This happens all the time regardless of the cones. And if they live near a school it should be obvious whey there is traffic.

I said if you come late the line is already moving and it’s much quicker. Arrive by 3:30 and you really don’t have long to wait. Yes, if you line up at 3 you have a 30 min wait.

Also, I agree the cones paced where they are now are slowing the exit for the pm. However, if they’re not there, people are going to try to bypass the kiss n ride line and cut through the West ox entrance lot and try to park. What they should do is actually use cones to block the entrance to the West and lot, but leave one side open for cars to exit only. Cars should be able to exit only either on Thompson or through the West Ox lot.

In the past, I had seen parents enter from school bus entrance, and many times a parent totally ignored PE teachers at kiss & ride to just squeeze through and drive away when there’re cars in the front loading kids. If they block half of west ox entrance with an exit only sign some parents would still enter from there. If no one’s allowed at kiss & ride before 3:25pm the traffic would be even worse, I was there 3:25pm but the line was already on the corner of misty creek. They should block in between bus entrance and staff parking, and remove cones for kiss & ride cars to exit from west ox, and place cones between kiss & ride and parking lot, this way cars don’t want to enter from west ox to kiss & ride lane because it’s hard to u turn since cones blocked between parking lot and kiss & ride lane, but the problem is, people will park on Thomson instead. It seems like, the old way without any cones would be easier. Yesterday the parking lot was very dangerous for people to cross, and Thompson became one lane since people had to park on both sides.

Maybe if there’s a separate entrance on Thompson Rd to enter parking behind kiss n ride it will ease the traffic,

I don't see a reason to put the cones up before 325 other than to frustrate people trying to park and get their kids.

This doesn’t make sense. Removing the cones in order for the kiss n ride cars to exit from West ox side will only encourage people to enter from the West Ox side who want to bypass the line and they will drive through to the kiss n ride lot. They are the problem and what make it unsafe! That’s what they are trying to prevent! The people who park and walk are the one who ruin it. Don’t park.

I don’t understand why people have to park for kiss n ride. There should be no parking at kiss n ride. They should stay in line and in their cars and pick up their kids in the line. Or have their kids ride the bus.

That would be ideal if perhaps it didn't block Thompson and Misty Creek and there was a larger area for cars to queue. Unfortunately the design is poor and we are stuck with it so the admin needs to be more creative instead of just plopping down some cones and calling it a day.

I think putting the cones up at 3:25 makes sense. That allows people who want to park to get in there before the kiss n ride line starts moving.

Buses leaving after 4pm is the reason parents pick up their kids in the kiss and ride.

It doesn’t matter if kiss n ride blocks Thompson Rd. Cars should still follow the rules of the road and not go on the wrong side of the road. They should plant a police officer there. Have him give out a few tickets and maybe that will teach these entitled parents a lesson. Every school has that issue. Rocky Run - the kiss n ride spills onto Stringfellow Rd. Carson - you should see that kiss n ride! It’s a mess. You can’t even cross the intersection at times even when the light is green because it’s so backed up. You just have to be patient. Eventually the line moves and the traffic will clear.

Do we have to buy assignment pads this year? My kids didn't use them last year and the teachers haven't mentioned getting it yet.

So....you don't want your kids to ride the bus for 30 minutes but you're complaining about how you're stuck in the kiss and ride line for 30 minutes. I don't understand the reasoning here. Just put your kids on the bus, slumming it on the bus is so much more convenient, ladies!
