Yes, the (checks notes) Arlington Democrats Precinct Captain and Planned Parenthood volunteer is definitely a deep cover R candidate. You are nuts. |
Campaign finance reports are live. I'm seeing tons of D donors. |
Miranda comes across as a no BS person who won't tolerate "fluffy" regardless of what it is modifying. But she demonstrates that she cares about seeing results from diversity and inclusion initiatives. I'm not sure what the PP meant about fluffy, but I know what I expect to see from this work and that's things like closing achievement gaps and disproportionate suspensions for starters. |
I don’t know what is going on with this Angelo kid but the whole withdrawal tweet that disappeared is weird. My kids aren’t even in APS and now I feel like I have to drag myself out to vote bc this is so messed up.
I think misogyny is definitely playing a role in some of the anti-Miranda opinions. |
Agree. That and she has loads of support from ACDC insiders. |
Where can we look at the donors? |
We aren’t allowed to criticize people with vaginas? Don’t be so patronizing. |
NP. Stop trying to make this about gender. That doesn't really fly when most of the sitting school board is female. We are judging Miranda based on her record and her actions. That's what people do in an election. That's what they should do. |
Stop trying to walk this back. We all read the comment - that Miranda won't tolerate fluffy DEI initiatives and that's seen as a positive. That tells us everything we need to know about the priorities of her camp. |
I will give you that APE is better now than during the pandemic. But that is not relevant to this campaign as that shift took place AFTER Miranda left the leadership of the group. If anything that shift reflects poorly on her leadership. When she led APE, it was doing awful things. After she left, the new leaders decided to make a change. Good for them, but let's remember that Miranda was the leader back when APE was screaming and belittling teachers, pushing for fulltime in person school during surges and pre vaccines, pushing against safety measures saying they were not needed, saying teachers were lazy, wanting to order teachers back into unsafe schools or fire them, not caring about teacher health, the peddling of bad "science" that covid doesn't spread in schools, isn't worse than the flu, that HEPAs and outdoor lunch are not needed. Thank god APS didn't listen to APE back then. We don't need Miranda in charge now. |
Agree, I find it insulting to all women that you're trying to pull the gender card. Please. You have a candidate with a record that makes people very uncomfortable. |
Stating that I think some (note the use of the word “some”) of the Miranda hate feels like misogyny isn’t “pulling the gender card.” It’s not even a terribly controversial statement. In any event, this won’t affect my kids. I’m just highly skeptical that someone who is barely an adult and hasn’t even lived here a year could do this job. I don’t have to agree with everything a particular candidate does or says, but being an adult with an employment or volunteer history is a prerequisite for me. |
I think the Hillary to Trump comparison is a bit too close for some of you. You’re literally willing to support a 22 year old with no experience or competence over a a very qualified woman just because you hate her. |
Stop trying to make an anonymous comment as if it came from Miranda herself. Same for my comments for that matter. There are forums coming up. Go ask her. She talks about all of her priorities if you can’t be bothered to ask her. |
Bc he wasn’t even here. How can you even draw a comparison? |
