Why do people with few resources vote conservatively? As you suggest, liberal policies generally favor the disadvantaged.

Because they value their freedom? Because they know they can do it themselves? Because they don’t want to live on the government teat?

Being forced to give birth is the opposite of freedom.

No one is being forced. Abortion simply went back to the states. Oh, the drama!

Where certain states are now forcing girls and women, some of whom were raped, to forced births. Why do you ignore this fact?

Please give me a list, with names, of girls and women who cannot get abortions anywhere in the country.

if you want gynecological lists of women and girls, ask Ron Desantis.

I’m asking people here. Surely there should be thousands by now!

What makes you think that every woman who had a problem getting an abortion published her story?

Are you saying it's reasonable for women to have to travel fo other states to receive this care? How are they supposed to afford that? Time off, hotels, waiting periods, plus the cost of the procedure?

1) Elizabeth was released from the hospital. Off they go to another nearby state that allowed abortion. She was not in dire straits. She just wanted one.

2) Amanda could have driven with her husband the 8 hours to another state. They chose not to.

3) Marlena was giving the pill. She chose not to go that route.

4) Tara could have gone to another state. She tried Michigan. Go to CO or CA. She had time.

5) Don’t hand me planned parenthood stories and expect they won’t be biased.

Republicans: so you have to travel out of state for a procedure, and spend one or two nights, take off extra days of work, find someone to babysit overnight. No biggie.

Showing themselves to be the elitists that they are.

All were given in-state choices. They just didn’t like them

Watching you work so hard to try to be OK with abortion rights being taken away is fascinating. And sad.

It is what it is. Just own it. You voted for the forced birthers. You must be OK with that. Too late now.

I think we should think long and hard at the ease in which we terminate a life. Notice how none of these stories start with “Sarah is 22, has multiple partners by choice, and sometimes skips her birth control. She’s found out she’s pregnant and is not ready to have a child….” Reason? Because that would bring up very uncomfortable questions. And that is the majority reason why someone seeks out abortion.

Ok. Let’s look “long and hard” at 22 year old Sara with multiple partners and an inconsistent use of birth control. Is it in the best interests of Sara to have a child? If she’s not great at taking birth control why do you think she’s going to be great at taking prenatals?

Basically does your argument boil down to Sara should be legally required to give birth…because she didn’t take a pill every day? Does that make any kind of sense to you? That a child should be raised by a 22 year old (guessing single mother because of your multiple partners comment) in adverse economic conditions because that will show her?

Whose interests do you serve here? It’s not Sara’s. It’s not the child’s. It’s not the states because they’ll be paying for the healthcare and the education and the early intervention. It’s just the interest of…controlling women?

Sara created another life. There are responsibilities that go with behavior. I knew at least a few Saras when I was in college who had multiple abortions. I’d like to see the Saras of this world not be considered victims.

The responsibility to get an abortion.

The average dem voter is more educated and sophisticated than the average GOP voter. This has been pretty well documented over the past 40 years. There is a reason the GOP continues to dilute public education. They want their voters dump and stupid. It is the only way they can win.

I remember Al Gore going to court saying his voters were stupid, and the court had to declare him the winner because his voters would disproportionately be unable to fill out a ballot.

Obama's campaign adviser in 2012 said their campaign strategy was to pursue low information voters, with appearances on random radio shows and talk shows that are not about news and politics(appearing on 'the pimp with the limp').

Democrats are always complaining that their voters can't even get proper ID or know how to fill out a ballot.

Plus they want to lower the voting age.

Conservatives get really angry when wealthy liberals don’t share their values of selfishness and sadism. It’s the entire reason why “limousine liberal” is even a trope - the wealthy are expected to be conservative and brutal in their pursuit of self interest and wealth maintenance, while liberals are supposed to be naive and poor.

The areas that you cite are highly educated. Education level is a bigger driver in party affiliation. The more educated you are the more likely you are to vote for Democrats. The less educated you are, the more likely you are to vote for Republicans.

This is basically why I now vote for Democrats: one party is crazy and it's not them.

That is a result of indoctrination in the colleges, not education

So when wealthy progressive vote for and support progressive non-profits that advocate for higher wages, better working conditions, more paid leave, more healtcare, the working class should unite against them?

DP. "Indoctrination in colleges"? You mean being taught to think critically? Not accepting the status quo? Questioning authority? Examining history and society through different lenses? Challenging widely-held beliefs? Learning about other cultures and political systems? Fostering intellectual curiosity? If that's "indoctrination," I'll take it.

Just stop. A politician's appearance has nothing to do with the ideas they promote or how they perform their job. I'm sick of how women are always evaluated first by their appearance and then by their character, ideas, etc. If you're a woman, shame on you twice.
