I know there are tons of rumors but I think it truly makes the most sense for Trig to be her child. It is exponentially more common for an older woman to give birth to a Down Syndrome baby. It is shockingly rare for a teenager to have a Down Syndrome baby. For that reason alone it makes it so much more likely that he is just Sarah's kid.

I feel like the consensus on Bill and Hillary is that they loved/love either very much, but Bill can't keep it in his pants. At some point, divorce didn't make sense re: her political ambitions, and here we are.

+1 re Bill and Hillary. I think they both agreed that it would be "her turn" after his presidency, so she was faced with two choices: (1) leave him, thereby creating more controversy, have the jilted ex-wife label for the rest of her life, and navigate electoral politics on her own, or (2) stay together, move past the cheating narrative, and have his/his team/Bill-friendly party infrastructure help launch her political career in NY. Add in the love/affection that I do think existed between them at some point, and she chose (2).

I think there was/is genuine love between them. How incredibly hurtful for her to have to endure public knowledge of their marital issues.

I read once that they both had political ambitions even when dating. Hilary did not want to move to Arkansas. But Bill’s plan was to move back there, run for Congress and convinced Hilary that they’d be in Washington within a fairly short time. But Bill lost and she was stuck there. I read a biography of hers several years ago and it seems there were excerpts of letters Hilary wrote to Bill about that not being their original plan. Have no way of knowing if its true or if I’m remembering it correctly but it does seem a likely scenario.

I have read and heard some wild theories on Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise but I can't think of a single reason she wouldn't have just married Chris Klein if she was pregnant with his child. Or just had the child. She was 28 years old! And the kid looks exactly like Katie and Tom.

People seem to forget or let Tom Cruise's crazy cloud the fact that Tom Cruise has consistently been a huge movie star since the late '80's and that anyone that has met him will talk about his charisma and intensity. I don't think it's strange that a young, pretty B-lister would fall for him and then get in over her heard. He is STILL Hollywood gold despite everything that has happened.

Maybe Chris dumped her and she was too proud to beg. If she was 28, she was a young 28 and was not as self actualized as actresses like January Jones or Mindy Kaling who are rare in hollywood to have made the single-mom choice even at much older ages. Plus we are gossiping about them anyway. Katie recovers by marrying a big star within a year of her broken engagement.

Sure Tom is a big star. But celebrity women do not want him, for all the reasons. He could get set up with a no-name, beautiful, fellow Scientologist, but he hasn't done that. Maybe now that he's 60 he can give up pressure to be a leading man in a relationship with an ingenue.

What convinced you? I don’t see it.

DP, well personally I think the companies instruct the idols to play up the “shipping” behavior because a lot of the fans go crazy for it. Also because it’s a decent cover if any members (of any groups because a lot of groups do this) actually are in a relationship with someone else. There are also legitimate cultural differences at play too. So I think the ships are like, 50% fans just wanting it to be true but if/when it’s not they’ll just eventually accept it and move on, 25% sh*t posting for the laughs, 24% true believers, and like 1% “… huh is there really something there?” Who even knows??
