Did you lose more than 50lbs?

Anonymous
if yes, how did you do it?

What diet/method did you use?

I am so fat and need to lose 70 lbs. I know I need to shut my mouth and stop eating shit for good but in one month I lost only 4lbs! I have been living on grilled chicken and veggies. DUring the weekend I have a normal dinner in some restaurant-is this maybe slowing things?

George Washington Weight Loss Center.

Exercise HAS to be a part of any weight loss effort I make. Cardio is my best friend.

I also have zero problem eating the exact same thing every day. I like to take the thinking out of my eating plan. I don't need variety. Calorie counting and points overwhelm me. I calculate what's okay and stick to it.

Also, keep in mind that at your rate, you'll have the weight off in a year. This is friggin amazing. Don't get caught up in the Us Magazine BS about losing 70lbs in six weeks like it's no big deal. Significant weight loss takes time----especially if you don't want it to come right back the second you relent on the dieting.

Posting more details will help people give you better tips.

OP here

I have gained weight since I got to US. I fell in love with the crap food from here-my fault! I know...so these 70 lbs were "achieved" in almost 4 years.

my height is 5,7 and and now I am 220lbs. I am so depressed because of that. My husband told me he wants the same woman he went for a date 4 years ago it felt horrible. I know it was a dick movie but I think he wanted to help me.

Of course I love carbs and sugars and the big problems is if I eat carbs and sugars during the weekend I gain like 6 pounds-in one weekend! Seems like my metabolism is the worse.

I've lost 56 pounds since November. Weight Watchers and exercise (5 days/week) have worked for me.

Yes! It took 3 years (YES 3) for me to loose 50 pounds. I used "small lifestyle changes". I've kept it off forever. Below I list some changes I made in order. Basically I made one, "Mastered it" and moved on to another ...roughly.

stopped drinking cokes
cut back on coffee
started walking about a mile a day 5 days a week
did not allow sweets in house but I lived alone...I suspect you don't.
Eventually aimed for 100 protein grams a day, 25 fiber (a lot of healthy mass if you eat whole foods).
Eventually started weight lifting.
Eventually counted calories. On non-workout days, aimed for about 1600 on work out days about 1800-2K.
drank a lot of water and a little red wine but nothing else really (2 cups ofmorning joe).

ect.

I lost 53 pounds on WW - went from 188 to 135 and am same height as you, 5'7" . It took 6 months. I have kept it off for 5 years now.
I know WW isn't for everyone - counting points, etc., but if you follow their approach, you will lose weight and you will learn a better way of eating for maintaining.
A key for me to maintain is exercise - I run/walk 3-4 times per week and swim twice. Not super long distances, but consistent.
You can do it, too.

I lost 55 pounds on Weight Watchers. So easy and have been maintaining for 1.5 years so far. Exercise is not the key to weight loss -- food is -- but exercise is definitely important for health and all-around well-being!

Also a WW success.

Exercise and the EFT diet. EFT diet is accurately recording "every effing thing" that goes in your mouth. Be accountable for your calories. Start with a nutritionist if you need a plan.

Exercise.

I lost 100 pounds in less than a year. I stopped eating flour and sugar and joined a 12 Step group for Food. The group is called Food Addicts in Recovery (FA) www.foodaddicts.org . I went from a size 22 (3x) to a size 2/4 and I didn't exercise at all. All of this was under my doctor's supervision. I am definitely not alone, there are lots and lots of similar success stories. The program is strict, but there is love and support that make it easier to follow. Like all of these things, it doesn't work for everyone, but it really worked for me and changed my life. Five years later, I am still down 95 pounds and have been within two or three pounds of my "goal" weight for the whole time. I'd encourage you to come and attend a few meetings and see if it works for you. The meeting times are listed on the website. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I wish I knew the secret to WW. I have done it twice with NO luck. I think I lost eight pounds the first time and six the second time.

I counted points, I worked out, etc. I have no clue why it doesn't work for me.

I did find success with Body for Life. I lost 26 lbs in seven weeks and it stayed off (until I got pregnant...) It is about working out six days a week, watching what you eat (they have "approved" foods) and having one day off a week to eat whatever you want. After a while you don't even want stuff on your day off.

It was a great program.

Medifast. 5'4" and went from 230 to 162 in 9 months. Great program for me because I hate calorie counting. Most of the food tastes pretty good but its a pricey program (about ~300/month for the medifast food and then you prepare your own "lean and green" meal once a day).

Were you able to keep the weight off after doing Medifast? I've tried it before and have only lasted for 2 weeks at a time. I feel hungry constantly and then go off.

Figuring out that I am hypothyroid and medically correcting it is how I have lost the weight.
