Gotcha and fully agree. Trends are trends. |
ahh just read this. Posted a long response before. My bad. And agreed it is laughable. But ive heard its more than just him that was the problem. Regardless you know the product you bought. Why stay? Those girls would be rockstars in GA and possibly good additions to some of the ecnl teams. A few might be able to switch clubs but the other teams are pretty locked in. |
GA will continue to gain traction, and IDs will be even more competitive this season. The idea that a player can simply walk onto a roster and become a starter is unrealistic. Most players will stay where they are in order to hold onto the ECNL badge for as long as possible. However, with recent U.S. IDs pulling players from outside ECNL, it’s clear the landscape is shifting. When you attend these events, it truly feels like an all-star environment. Staying with a club solely for league affiliation can do a disservice to the player. I’m not saying one league is better than the other—but keeping an open mind is critical. In MA, neither league is particularly strong, and neither is making a significant impact beyond the region. |
would be a breath of fresh air. Fingers crossed. Hard fought season w injuries |
+1 |
Why? Because GD left? I don't think that's causing as many problems as you'd think b/c GD had assistants doing a lot of his work before he left anyway. He's been checked out for a while just trying to find someone to hire him. |
Va in the Mid Atlantic ga is getting belt. At all age groups. Not to say ma ecnl is a cakewalk but those girls would bring immediate value to our ma GA teams. In fact some clubs might have some players already moonlighting or in talks to. They would be stupid not to when ids are around the corner. Fvu would shore up w GA talent and ecnl cuts, and continue their descent while collecting $$. Circle jrk of life continues |
Yes exactly. With 2 other ECNL teams in NoVa why would you just stay. Maybe you aren’t god enough to make the other 2 ECNL teams or the commute is undesirable. But there are 6 GA teams in the area. So staying has to be the badge. Parents are willing to go through all of this because of the badge. And then ease their conscious by complaining about the coach and club. When you look at the player roster on IG there are girls who live near Alexandria, McLean and SYC. But those teams aren’t as good you say? And I say Isn’t your daughter good enough to make them better? It is a whole new challenge to be a top 3 player on a team and have to “pull” the team up. Most find that far scarier than dealing with any terrible coach. |
Yes it is not DB’s fault. And if things were so bad with him players would leave. None are leaving. Just a bunch of complaining parents here. |
|
We don't have to leave because he's gone now!! Plus unlike him, we honor our commitments |

We know quite a few that are already working on leaving. DB was/is not the only issue with this club. He was just the weakest link that could be removed.
DB didn’t just allow a toxic environment — the club actively created one. From the start, it was MD players versus everyone else. He rolled out the so-called IDP on Saturday night and offered zero communication about departures. Then on Sunday, he met with multiple MD players and shared his plan for departure. Why not send out a communication to the team as a whole? Also watch the VDA game if there’s any doubt. That wasn’t a team — it was a divided group operating in full us vs. them mode. Not wanting to pass, playing the hero card. That is the opposite of leadership and has no place in building a cohesive program. CW isn’t innocent either. He saw exactly what was happening and chose silence over accountability. Anyone who stays should be clear-eyed about what they’re signing up for. Unless you’re part of the favored MD “golden kid” circle, you’ll be on the outside — and that’s by design. |
| Most are staying for the badge. It’s ok to admit it. The 2011s have had three coaches over the last three years and the results have been the same. There’s enough blame to go around but the bulk should fall on the club. |
But does the badge really hold that same value it did 3 years ago? Makes sense for older girls, but 2011 and below have options now. |
The MD kids are going to Bethesda |
