What 2011 teams are qualifying this year??

DB didn’t just allow a toxic environment — the club actively created one. From the start, it was MD players versus everyone else. He rolled out the so-called IDP on Saturday night and offered zero communication about departures. Then on Sunday, he met with multiple MD players and shared his plan for departure. Why not send out a communication to the team as a whole?

Also watch the VDA game if there’s any doubt. That wasn’t a team — it was a divided group operating in full us vs. them mode. Not wanting to pass, playing the hero card. That is the opposite of leadership and has no place in building a cohesive program. CW isn’t innocent either. He saw exactly what was happening and chose silence over accountability.

Anyone who stays should be clear-eyed about what they’re signing up for. Unless you’re part of the favored MD “golden kid” circle, you’ll be on the outside — and that’s by design.

The MD kids are going to Bethesda

That simple? Why weren't they at Bethesda to begin with?

Because of what they were sold and convinced to go to FVU

This is a lie!!

For 2011 - Some could not get on the ECNL team (were offered RL and moved on) and others that made it to ECNL did not get playing time and chose to leave to FVU. They are now the big dogs at FVU, running the show.

How many teams is CW going to coach?
how is DB catching all the strays and not CW?

Well CW has a track record of coaching many of our girls 2 years ago and all was calm and organized with good communication. This year has been pure chaos.

And this is why I read all club threads on here because basically everything that happened this season is what was described in the NVA thread last season on his way out. There were a few defending him due to his life situation at the time such as just getting married, having a kid, the commute etc but now everyone is seeing a pattern of behavior unfortunately.
sorry not buying it. There is equal blame at that round table. Consider that track record now blemished between the 10s and 11s.

True but how many situations will hold equal blame? Going on your 4th club in less than 2 years? You dont have to buy it but you have to acknowledge it.

The 4th club in 2 years sounds bad without the details. He was with McLean/Union for many years with CW, BL, NM and ML. He tried one year with NVA after NVA had their best year mainly because of NS. NS left NVA and the club went to sh$t and then they decided to go GA which is worse than sh$t. So then DB went back to what he thought was going to be Union with CW, BL, NM and ML. Three out of the four names listed were out right after he signed up and then he found out MV was the director. So yeah sounds bad but it is completely logical to want to move to anywhere else cause everywhere else is more stable.

This defense of him is laughable given how unprepared he is, needs his hand held, and lacks professionalism. It's sad when the parents and girls have to wonder if he's going to show up on time or even show up at all. We heard about his antics at NVA. Fighting with a coach, and skipping out on practices. We thought well maybe that was an NVA problem and he'd be different when he got here, but we were sadly mistaken.

So what keeps you at FVU? Why the unwillingness to leave?
i imagine some kids were called up today and their parents are happy and dug in (mind u there were plenty of other equally talented kids on that roster that could have gone head scratcher on that), some parents are flat out scared that their DD cant make another ECNL club and don't want to gamble on it, the rest maybe Stockholm syndrome? Carpools? Kids starting? A certain player left and they see opportunity for DD to shine? Imposter’s syndrome? Fear? Pick your poison. They (some) will be willing to put up with another season of it Including “front office” dropping balls. Pun intended. With a smile and grinding teeth

Like damn now your FO cant even book jeff cup hotels on time? What is going on over there? What did you guys pay for exactly? Goodness. What did you guys do to CW to get that kind of treatment lol. The stories are just almost like an abc comedy almost unbelievable . From what I understand it’s just the 11s and maybe the 10s. Why are you all staying when club actions say we want you to leave (besides the whole tryouts/id sessions thing that has yet to happen).

I really would love to know as well. I know GA
Isn’t ideal for some of yall but it is a walk on starter option. Like its complaint after complaint in the FB/chatterverse. Those id sessions must have a chilling effect.

Please if u must continue knocking down DB explain why you are staying? Or at least want to stay? On the outside We see no improvements coming and its not like they will buy a club out for a facility.

Why are you staying? Is it simply badge chasing?! Are you guys even going to any id sessions? GAs happens in Feb.

Also who is the new coach? And how does jeff cup work?

On a different note how does this cup thing play out now? Is VDA a shoe in for the playoffs?

GA will continue to gain traction, and IDs will be even more competitive this season. The idea that a player can simply walk onto a roster and become a starter is unrealistic. Most players will stay where they are in order to hold onto the ECNL badge for as long as possible. However, with recent U.S. IDs pulling players from outside ECNL, it’s clear the landscape is shifting.

When you attend these events, it truly feels like an all-star environment. Staying with a club solely for league affiliation can do a disservice to the player. I’m not saying one league is better than the other—but keeping an open mind is critical. In MA, neither league is particularly strong, and neither is making a significant impact beyond the region.

Neither league is strong? Highest ranked VA GA team is SYC. They recently lost to a bottom tier ECNL team, a 2012 Ecnl team and they tied a RL team… one league is definitely not strong… I get you are trying to push GA but 😬.

But does the badge really hold that same value it did 3 years ago? Makes sense for older girls, but 2011 and below have options now.

Exactly. The ECNL badge isn’t the only badge that gets you invites to ID sessions and allows you to play at showcases in front of college coaches

You can tell me ECNL is better all day long but if you are staying just for the badge you deserve what you are getting

For US Talent ID center for 2001 girls, VDA with 4 girls, FVU with 3, Loudoun with 2 and Arlington with 2.

Congrats to all that made it.

What about Revolution, Mclean, Alexandria, and SYC? None for 2011?

Yes. It holds the same value. Top players are not playing GA.

You "chasing the badge" people need to learn what you are talking about. The girls want to play on the best team possible and against the best competition possible. Below are the rankings for teams in the leagues that the local teams play - ECNL and GA (i.e., the teams they could play on and the competition they would face in those leagues. I have also highlighted the S. MD and N. VA teams the local girls could conceivably play for.

They sent some to the previous ID sessions. I was just highlighting the camp coming up to applaud those girls. But equal congrats to the girls who went to the previous ID session.
